It's not looking very pretty on my system. Please see below pics. Reference my sig for my hardware.

1) The shadow edges have jaggies and look fuzzy
2) Anti aliasing does not appear to work (application)
3) The trees are just blobs and have no detail.

RoF is run at 5780X1080 (then corrected for bezels). Funny thing is, when I run the game with 1 monitor at 1920X1080, all is well.

Any AMD users (perhaps 69xx users) and/or widescreen users (3 monitors) have any suggestions? Thanks

Up your draw/view distance to max in ROF's settings.

I've got the same issue, and I looked for a draw distance setting and couldn't find it. Is it called something else in there, or maybe I'm looking in the wrong place?

If you st art the ROF Launcher, click Start Game, then go to the graphics tab it's called "Objects visibility". Also, up your forest visibility to Very Far.

So the draw distance didn't do anything for the fuzzy edged shadows, but up-ing the light sources helped that out alot. Still not perfect, but much better. Is there something in the config about any camera zoom that could fix the filtering? Before the last few updates I never could get a pleasing full 3 monitor image, so I'm glad that works now. Just hope there is something out there to fix the small issues.

It's just a matter of getting the correct setting.
I had the same issues before I got all dialed in.
I will post my set later today so you can compare.

Cool, thanks! That's true. I remember the weeks spent dialing/configuring up FSX when I first got my new system and triple monitor setup. I'm happy to learn all the things to try. I've learned alot these past few years, thanks to you guys here at SimHQ.

These are my setting.
I use a i5 2500k clocked to 4.2 and a 7970 factory clocked. Running Eyefinity on 3x27"
With these I get no lower than 60fps and usually 80 and upwards 120 fps.
Just found out about the multi-GPU that should be enabled, even if you don't have crossfire/SLI.
Made HUGE differance for me.

I think I hade issues with jaggies due to HDR being enabeled, so I have that shut off.

F19- Ok thanks for the tips. I will these tonight when I get home.

with V-sync off, are you getting screen tearing?

Which AMD drivers version are you using? I am currently on the latest 13.2 beta 7

Not much tearing as I get quite good fps now.
I might enable it just to see if it gives any improvement.
i'm using the same drivers as you.

Oh, wow, yes. Turning off HDR really reduced the jaggies. Thanks for that! Now it's just optimizing for smooth FPS. salute yeah

I messed around with the settings but no dice. Anti aliasing is not working properly at 5780X1080 and the overall picture is not clear. But at normal 1920X1080 it looks crisp. I believe it's a videocard memory issue. My 6970 has 2GB and that's not enough to properly anti-alias at such a large resolution. (Though it works fine in other games like BF3, planetside 2, Moh:Warfighter, DCS World)

F19 your card has 3GB so that definitely helps. I've ordered a new card and hopefully that will clear up the issues.

I doubt that the vram of your card is not enough. I used a 2 gb 6950 before and had the same issue with that, but cleared it with the correct settings.
A 7900 card won't hurt the performance though wink

I think the fuzzy edged shadows are an optimisation. Shadows seem to be sharp while you have a hardware overhead, once you get more planes in view or ground objects the shadows drop back to fuzzy.

At least that's the way it's always happened on my PC. Strangely hardware upgrades don't seem to change things much.

Well, no improvement in anti-aliasing with the new videocard (though I can run RoF at maximum settings with fps better than 30).

After an extensive Google search, it seems anti-aliasing is an issue with AMD cards and RoF on multi monitors. Maybe there is a sweet spot, but the fact that I need to tweak one setting, load the game, check, rinse and repeat defeats the purpose of "user friendly". AA works just fine in other games. sigh
