Just a reminder! We've got a lot of people playing this these days, getting 4 man rooms even during the week. Might be nice to try the 8 man again if we get enough people on at once.
This week we've added some ECM mechs. A couple of Ravens I believe and I'll bring the Atlas along with my usual Stalkers.
Probably be on tonight for a test and tune night.

I might join up late tonight and get in some practice with my Spider. I haven't really figured that mech out though. I get creamed everytime I bring it in.

Mebbe I'll scurry around your feet and take pot shots =P

If we are doing 8-man's I will run my Raven. Got used to it a bit the other night with Kludger and Raw.

There have been a couple of forum posts (on MWOMercs) about 8-man's and the group being made up of entirely 'optimum' mechs.

A bit frustrating to see this personally, I would like to see a nice mix of mech's. I think we can do that if we just work on our coordination and teamwork.

Looking forward to it.

Also, make sure to patch in advance, there is a new patch tomorrow as well.

Cheers!

Did you post your MWO handle in the proper thread? I was looking for it earlier and couldn't find it.

I did at one point. I think I noticed it's not in the summary on the first page. My handle is...

I thought we were supposed to complicate things by using a different name in the game than on simhq?

Don't forget to change mechs every other round, each with unique paint schemes too. It's all good mental training. woot

I broke down and picked up a K2, it's currently non functional as I don't have enough credits to complete the build (I sold the equipment that I won't be using), so I'll activate some premium time tomorrow night and get 'er all fixed up.

Here's the schematics:

CPLT-K2

I like it, but seems like it would run incredibly hot. I think everyone has a lot more self control than I do when it comes to slowing down their firing. LOL

It's very much experimental as I have yet to field test it, but the ALPHA will be incredible!

It will be a nice punch for sure. I run one of my Stalkers with a similar set up. 2 ER PPC, 2 LL and all the double heatsinks I can pack in.
Feetwet was running a 1X (correct me if I'm wrong) with 3 PPC's last night. He was punching holes in everyone with it, getting about 3 grouped shots before having to wait to cool down.

I want to play with PPCs sigh

I can't find a way to fit them onto my Spider or Jenner.

Machine guns are just good, right?

Right?

Here is a link to my 1x. Armor may be a little off, but everything else is accurate. Never really found myself with heat problems until I got into the thick of it and was the last standing. Great support loadout, fast, hits hard.

Was fun to strip those D-DC bastards of their ECM coverage....bwahhaha...

SimHQ TS3 Server, just look for the MWO or MechWarrior Online channel.

Man was that awkward... Can't you guys just take hint? biggrin

But seriously, I thought I was done. And then before I closed the client, I decided I didn't want to end on a streak of losses so I dropped solo. I was thinking maybe since we were in a four man we were getting tougher games and I'd have better luck with one more drop... I thought "hey, wouldn't it be funny if I was playing against the SHQ guys..." And then there you were! And I ended up finishing on a loss anyway...

You're not affiliated with me!

But seriously, I had a good night last night. After we won that final drop and you all abandoned me, I went on a mean winning streak.

In one match I got legged in my Jenner and still went on to kill a dragon and a trebuchet. the trebuchet killed me at the same exact instant though. we laughed about it in All chat.

I also sold my spider. Man that thing is a stinker! I replaced it with a JR7-D, so I am now working on that variant.

Still need to buy an XL engine. Mebbe I'll pick up some mech creds...

Had a great time, but I didn't feel that good about my performance either.
I think we're a much better assault team than conquest, and we played a lot of conquest last night. Seems to be coming up more and more often with my solo playing too when I don't select a game type.
We might want to take control of what game type we play, even if it's just to force alternating games. We can't tell what map we'll land on, but if we decide for ourselves what game type we're going to play, we might want to change out mechs. Something much faster for conquest, mainly. I'd rather not get in a furball until the points are flowing in our direction. All of the lights in conquest sicken me, but I think it's a case of "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em". Maybe a team of 3L's is the way to go for that game type. I might give it a shot over the next week so I can run in circles like everyone else.

I'm also falling back into old pugging habits of play. I need to communicate more and make sure I stick with the squad. Several times I got separated and I was to far away to help or get helped.

On conquest maps I might break out my 4sp, with the speed tweek its pretty fast and I love the srms.

Count me in. Let's pick the game type and adjust our builds accordingly. I have a Raven 3L - I'm down to flock. CAW CAW!

I also have a speedy HBK-4SP (std 250) with speed tweak (like 89kph or something). Two of those things running around all coordinated-like could be dangerous.

2x Raven 3L's + 2x HBK-4SP's with speed tweak = ultimate mega happy fun conquest 4 man.

Agreed to do the specific drop types selection.

Also, not sure what is up with last night, but I will throw my hat into the 'i just sucked' ring as some others.

Was just having all kinds of issues.

Interesting thing is, still had lots of fun.

Another thing, when we were dropping with Mr. Blastman, he was making an effort calling targets and help coordinate via map markers, I think it made a definite difference, and likely was the difference between a loss and win on several drops.

Cheers!

This always makes a difference. Even if we don't well, if we all team up on a target, it always goes better.

Yeah, I appreciated the command work. I think there are a few areas we can improve in to at least get more consistent.
Always fun though!

Well I suppose the SimHQ ArmA guide may still apply here, just swap Infantry w/ Mech and off we go. I'm glad I wasn't the only pilot w/ less than optimal performance last night, I swear I was kickin' ass earlier in the day, I may have been over confident last night and I payed for it.

Last night I got all the basic tier for the JR7-F, so I switched to the D variant.

I replaced the SRM with 2 LRM5, to be a pocket (read here: affordable) LRM boat. I will run this variant for a bit.

We need a fleet of ECM Atlaseses...atlii...4 of the same atlas! We'd be awesome and could just stand back to back in a circle to kill off the ravens. thumbsup

SOB. I am having trouble saving up for a dang CTF, how the hell long will it take to get a DDC...aahhhhhh!

Quick question, I'm going to get a 2X. It has 2 missile slots in the right arm but only 4 tubes. How does that work? What would happen with 2 srm6s in that arm?

Seems like that would be a nightmare to keep on target. Maybe I'll run 2 srm4 in chain fire.
