I "took the plunge" and purchased Steel Fury off Amazon for $5.00! It's the Strategy First version. I discovered it had the JSGME application already installed with the following MODS activated: Unofficial patch_SF_v0.1_Eng, and Compass_Mod_v02.

Are these enough to get started? I've only scratched the surface and haven't gotten to far into the game. Still have a lot of reading to do. Boy the syntax in the PDFs takes some getting used to :}.

Also, am I the only person who struggled with the driving turtorial? I couldn't for the life of me get the tank out of the tank ditch. I just couldn't build up enough speed to climb out.

Although I didn't really know what I was doing, I enjoyed the first "quick mission". Looks like a really great sim.

Anyway, like I said, I just started, got a lot of reading to do. I apologize ahead of time if I post a question that's already been asked.

Try driving around the ditch. hahaha There's a reason they call it 'anti-tank'.

I'd suggest continuing with the Matilda tank lessons to learn a thing or two.
Later updates have replaced it with the T-34, which is far less of a challenge.

I'm speaking, of course, of the World of the Invisible Scary Skeletons."

YES! they are certainaly good enough to get started. Thats the basics of needed stuff. biggrin All default missions will run fine. Yes in that stupid tank ditch can be vary hard. If you take it fast enough you might be able to get threw it on the road part. Or ya.......drive around it.

LOL remember hours of frustration with that ditch, want to put some rockets attached to the Matilda

@GH just drive around! So you will start shooting sooner wink Don`t worry I didn´t find such a ditch later while playing the missions...

If you do the version of the tutorials with the T-34 (in the unofficial patch I believe) it's quite achievable.

The ditch thing has put many off the game..which is very very sad as boy do they miss out. I never managed it either so just jumped straight in..never had the same problem in game.

Just make sure you have good enough acceleration and do NOT adjust the direction while accelerating. You should be on 3th or 4th gear when diving into the ditch. I did this easily on Matilda and T-34. Just keep stepping on the gas! biggrin
