Hi everybody, The next SimHQ and DCS Fly-In starts Friday, February 22, 2013. These events usually go into Sunday, with folks from all over the world, participating at different times throughout the weekend. Here is a rough order of the battle plan for the Hollo Pointe server, starting Friday morning at around 0900 Colorado time (UTC-7 Mountain Time US & Canada). The Highway-M4 104th_Moa's FuldaGap Nuke Plant Back To School iShot The Shilka Thunder Of Kojori 104th_Moa's Operation Rampant Bear Shirley's Cross Riders ot Storm Road Kill White Bird Ants There's no particular sequence for the list above. When a mission gets to a Win/Lose/Time Out conclusion then that mission will automatically reload (except for Rampant Bear). A server administrator can load a different mission. These fine folks are: Eno EinsteinEP blindone Molasses tomcat Wheel XRay_Specs Wrecking Crew If v1.2.3 is released before the Fly-In then the Hollo Pointe server will most likely be updated. If that release happens then we can dust off the missions that include ships. Hollo Pointe will retain the current v1.2.2 in case we will still need it for the Fly-In. If the update is released during the Fly-In then,,, I dunno. For the Hollo Pointe server missions, here are the available Client positions: The Highway-M4 A-10Cs, Ka-50s, F-15Cs, Su-25Ts, P-51Ds, Ground Commander & JTAC, F10 View Fog Of War, COOP 104th_Moa's FuldaGap A-10Cs, Ka-50s, Su-25Ts, Ground Commander & JTAC, F10 FOW, External Views Off, No TGPs, COOP Nuke Plant A-10Cs, Ka-50s, Ground Commander & JTAC, F10 All, COOP Back To School A-10Cs, Ka-50s, Su-25Ts, Ground Commander & JTAC, F10 FOW, Head-2-Head iShot The Shilka A-10Cs, Ka-50s, Ground Commander & JTAC, F10 FOW, H2H Thunder Of Kojori A-10Cs, Ka-50s, F-15Cs, Ground Commander & JTAC, F10 FOW, COOP 104th_Moa's Operation Rampant Bear A-10Cs, Ka-50s, F10 FOW, COOP Shirley's Cross A-10Cs, Su-25Ts, P-51Ds, Ground Commander & JTAC, F10 FOW, H2H Riders ot Storm A-10Cs, Ka-50s, F10 FOW, H2H - Red Ka-50s Road Kill A-10Cs, Ka-50s, Ground Commander & JTAC, F10 FOW, COOP White Bird A-10Cs, Ka-50s, F10 FOW, COOP Ants A-10Cs, Ka-50s, F10 FOW, COOP

I too would like to participate in said fly-in. I fear I may only be good for comic relief though. After much practice to try and reacquaint myself with the KA, A-10, and P-51 I've found that I'm fairly adept and crashing all three.
I'll try and stay out of everybody's way.
If you hear an explosion and it's not you.... it's me. Don't worry Omega will more than likely shoot you down. If we hear him say "Fox 2!" we all flinch waiting for the impact

Dont think of it as being vastly outnumbered ... but just having a large target selection.

Can somebody mail me ip adresses used for connection to Eno's Firehouse server and Hollo Pointe server? I dont see those two servers while connecting to master server Hi Hrvoje, Check the first post in this thread. Which reminds me to get the Hollo Pointe IP to Eno... Eno - can you grab the IP from the MP Lobby and update the first post? http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3685928/1/Eno_s_Firehouse_and_Crew_s_Hol^^^ These two servers are running v1.2 these days. Can somebody mail me ip adresses used for connection to Eno's Firehouse server and Hollo Pointe server? I dont see those two servers while connecting to master server If we are not set to LAN then you won't be able to connect by ip- sometimes it does take a couple of "new searches" for them to come up. Make sure you're also updated to the latest software. The firehouse is going to be more of the training ground server for the fly in. LOADS of aircraft slots of as many varieties as I can manage tucked into a pocket of airbases close to the ocean. This will ensure everyone gets a chance to get their aircraft dialed in and an opportunity to brush up their skills before heading over to the action in the Hollo Pointe server with crew and the gang. I do have some CA spots for jtac operations as well. We are going to need to work out a system for TS3 as well- fortunately SimHQ provides a great TS3 hookup but if we start to overload that then I also have a TS3 server running with rooms for the firehouse and Hollo pointe. The information for that is located on the fist page of the firehouse / Hollo pointe thread. Many of the larger incoming squadrons may already have their own TS3 setups and may choose to work in their own groups with their own protocols on their own channels. I want to emphasize that the firehouse and Hollo pointe server regulars are casual by purist standards but dialed in by casual standards. If guys want to take it to the absolute max, then I encourage you to do so but please be respectful of the fact that enthusiasts of all levels will be banging around out there and all are equally welcome. I will put some "student driver" slots up in the playground for the DCS aircraft and keep them at their own airbase. If you guys think its a good idea I can give those aircraft a unique skin so that others can be more patient with you. I could put some "instructor" aircraft in play at the field as well for those who want to go help out our dcs fledglings. They would be unique in their attire as well. As people begin to build confidence in their aircraft they can head over to the main bases and test the waters with their mentor. Might be a really fun concept. Thoughts?

I recently posted this over at the ED side but it has lots of info that will prevent me from having to retype it:
I'm going to weigh in here as well for those of you who have either had your DCS module on the shelf for awhile as connection issues work themselves out, or perhaps you have new controls you haven't had a chance to dial in... or perhaps you are new to the MP environment and feel a bit intimidated about "being a burden."
I'm here to tell you the beauty of having both Firehouse and Hollo Pointe servers put to task here is that we can accommodate EVERYONE.
The Firehouse server is, for the most part, going to be committed to providing a "Shakedown Cruise" opportunity for all enthusiasts currently using the DCS high fidelity modules- A-10C, KA-50, SU-25T, CA (Mostly for JTAC) and P-51. A narrow spectrum of popular FC3 aircraft are included as well but don't have the "student / instructor" spots.
The Playground is an opportunity for people to work out issues with their controls, to practice a variety of skills with weapons and systems... practice formation flying with a variety of aircraft involved...
I do have somewhat isolated spots populated with the main DCS aircraft in "Student Driver / Instructor" roles. These roles are intended to give the EXTREMELY new a chance to bang around without needing to worry about feeling like they're "Getting in the way." Both our servers' regulars are VERY patient and helpful- but we're constantly hearing feedback that people "don't want to be a bother." RIDICULOUS! Come on in!
The student slots are at their own airfield. A-10C and SU-25T aircraft are a bit further away to give them loads of wiggle room, and waypoints guide them over to the action as people start to get more comfortable. They can land at an active airfield, bomb up and head out to the range with the rest of the folks as their confidence builds. Those who need a little more time working the kinks out can stay over by their base of origin. Conspicuously marked (OD) Instructor aircraft are available as well for those who don't mind taking our fledgling enthusiasts under their wing to help them out. If you see one of these OD aircraft nearby with 2-3 other aircraft in tow, then you know it's a group of relatively inexperienced pilots who will likely have a narrow spectrum of situational awareness... maybe if you join up with them you give them a bit of a wider berth and fly a bit more defensively.
Seasoned pilots have plenty to do as well with the full spectrum of weapons. Various target areas provide different challenges- whether they're SAMs or dedicated AAA.
SPECIAL NOTE: SAM AND AAA THREATS ARE OFTEN IMMORTAL SO THEY LAST THROUGHOUT THE FLY-IN WINDOW.
The idea is that instead of mindlessly clobbering hapless targets that you constantly have that threat to deal with. Sure, you can deal with it from 20000 feet- or you can purposely work at the fringe of their range to work on your evasion techniques. You decide- but the threats are there to stay.
Convoys are also working their way around the training area at random intervals. These convoys are both supplies and armored reinforcements... some are on the roads, some are working their way around various rivers and streams to get to a variety of objectives. These are little "cookies" for those who are bored with the predictable target areas.
BE CAREFUL- some blue CA spots exist and friendly forces may be navigating around the area as well. Make sure you ID your targets!
The scripting in the mission is by no means polished or exotic- just enough to generate some messages and to randomize some enemy activity. I hope it provides a nice place for large numbers to congregate and shake out before heading over to Hollo Pointe for actual missions.
TS3 is going to be a busy place and for that reason I do have a "Firehouse TS3 Server" started and ready with a variety of rooms. The login info is available on the first page of the Firehouse / Hollo Pointe Server thread.
I ask that those who need specific instruction (or those who wish to help out) join the Firehouse Server TS3 and head to the "Flight School" Channel. People wanting to just get in and go for it on their own or with their squad mates can head to red or blue channels.
