GTX 680 with 2G of GDDR5 Video RAM...

Would this configuration be adequate to run CLoD with all settings set to maximum and still get a decent frame rate? Is 4G GDDR5 required?

I am considering replacing my video cards (a pair of ATI HD 4890s in Crossfire) with an EVGA GeForce GTX 680 FTW LE with 2 G GDDR5.

Would it be better to go with a GTX 670 and 4G (and save some money) or a GTX 680 4G card that costs $75 more (from my Canadian source)?

Thanks,
Vana2

Ive got the 670gtx 4Gb w/8gb ddr3...you wont be disappointed. 60fps

I highly doubt you'll see any noticeable difference with a 680 4gb

You should be fine. Clodo seldom uses more than 1.5 gigs of vram with the latest patches. I have a GTX 580 with 3 gigs and have had no trouble running the game since its first release. What will happen to vram usage in the future with the ATAG guys work who knows. But I would bet you would still be fine.

RedToo.

Edit: having said all of the above when I replace my 580 I'll probably go for the max Vram I can afford as future proofing.

Personally I would spend the extra money for the 4gig vram. Especially the very quite ASUS GeForce GTX 680 DirectCU II 1006MHZ 4GB GDDR5 6GHZ 2xDVI HDMI DP PCI-E 3.0 Video Card for 560 Canadian at NCIX.com But I haven't checked prices from other sources.

After much research and deliberation I decided to go with the EVGA GeForce GTX 670 FTW+ 4GB w/Backplate over the 680 with 2GB.

Figure that the 670 has plenty of power and being a PCI-E 3.0 card with 4GB VRAM offers a measure of future-proofing as well.

I was interested in the ASUS offerings but cost and availability were concerns.

Card has been ordered smile2 now for the hard part… waiting for delivery.

Thanks for the input!!!
