They should at least do a biopic for Salacious B. Crumb...The things he must have seen!

Seriously... it's not even that difficult. Can you say Bobba Fett movie?

But not till '2015'....that's a long time.

I enjoyed the series, until they revealed that [edit;] 'Lucas' had his own agenda implanted in it.
Sorta took the fun out of it a little...but I can still see it with my own eyes, and enjoy it.

This one will not contain his hidden 'messages' I would hope.
Not his baby.

Just a great movie would be fine with me....so little coming out of Bollywood as it is.
Good movies are rare lately.

'Bout time.
Hope it's good. I love science fiction, when it's 'possible'.
Hate it when it's pure fantasy.
Our futures are in the hands of you 'Nerds'....hope you take us to a good place wink

I'll be looking forward to this....hope it's just fun, without a message for the 'masses'.

edit;
Yeah PZ...George Lucas.
I remembered the characters, not the producers wink

With any luck they'll be stand alone as in building up to an Avengers type all-star cast movie.
And Han Solo/Chewie is what we want people. wink

Actually, Murph, Bollywood cranks out a ton of stuff. Chances are you've seen very little to none of it.
You're referring to India. wink

They will be major flops compared to the outstanding trilogies. They worked because we were all taken back by this machine called darth vader, and we wanted to now more about his story. His character is gone, the story is gone. These will be meh..

Yoda is mildly insteresting. I think that Han's & Chewy's early career might make a good adventure flick.......how they did the Kessel run etc.

That was already done a while ago. It's called "Firefly".

No, there were a series of novels published in the late 70's/ early 80's that covered that period in their career.

I'm wondering how this is going to jibe with all the EU material, since according to Lucas, it was all Canon, and there's stuff going from several thousand years before the original trilogy, to several hundred years afterwards.

When it was announced that they were taking over the license from Lucas, they pretty much already said they weren't going to be basing their next movie on the EU.

That's not to say that there won't be EU-related movies in the future, but according to Disney the film JJ is working on won't be.

I was referring strictly to material that has been put on the small and/or big screen. I think just a tad few more people are familiar with Firefly than those SW novels published in the 1970's. smile

Ok, so clearly we want Nathan Fillion to take over the Han Solo role.
There are few that could step into that and be accepted, but he would be.
WIN.

I'm pretty sure the universe would implode from the awesome that would create.

Putting Fillon together with Felicia Day and Neil Patrick Harris for Dr. Horrible's Singalong Blog nearly tore apart the space/time fabric.
