Lovely clear canopy to spot bogeys through wink

In all my years I've never seen the like. It has to be more than a hundred sea miles and he brings us up on his tail. That's seamanship, Mr. Pullings. My God, that's seamanship!

Seriously? Seriously, Iran? Really?

It's a fake. Look closely at the image on Mailman's post on page 1. Look at the nose. You can see the seams in the plywood. What a joke. And even if it was real, I'd like to see the tiny radar that fits in that nose, or lack thereof. And that plastic canopy. Come on, we're not that stupid, Iranians.

FARS must be run by Baghdad Bob. Remember him, talking about how the Iraqi army was winning in 2002, while Marine LAVs were basically driving around behind him rofl ?

Awwwwww, that's cute Iran. However, a bit of friendly advice for jet development would be to actually develop a jet. Get back to us when you're a real country.

They should call it "The Fireball" cause that is what it will turn into fighting the US or Israel. LOL!

It's like they're children or something, thinking the world can be fooled by that. I don't mean that in an insulting way, just some sort of analysis - they just don't seem to know that their efforts are so easily seen through, much like children think they're pulling one over on their parents and don't realize the adults have seen enough to know when the kids are just making stuff up.

Cat is right, it looks like something I build out of plywood then painted. There are too many scratches, wavy lines, globbed paint, etc. You would think there would be at least one automotive painter in the country who could finish it down properly before painting it... Access panels? I see what appear to be two. Pretty hard to fix this plane I suppose. I pity the guys who made this, they are probably going to prison for doing such a poor job.

You don't need a great army or air force to keep the West from messing with you. You just need a nuclear weapon. North Korea would have imploded by now, if they didn't use nuclear weapons and a leveraging tool to get food to feed their people.

I have a few Persian friends, and I love them in the US, but I see how much they miss their Westernized Country.

This isn't for us. They know we won't buy it.

This is for domestic consumption. This is the "look people of Iran, we are AWESOME despite most of the world hating us for being jerks" display. When we claim it's fake, they then turn it around to make it look like we're against them. When this thing never flies or nothing comes of it, we'll also be blamed in some manner for that.

I get it, the seating is like that so it's easier for the pilot to kiss his ass goodbye. After the tow cable is cut, of course.

Anybody noticed how the plane is seen from 360°, but you cannot see a door in that hangar ? It wasn't rolled in there, it was assembled inside... The cockpit is what made me laugh the most. Apparently Iranian pilots are pretty tough, they don't need insulation to protect them from outside temperatures at 30k ft, and their heads can easily punch through the canopy when firing the ejection seat. Maybe TopGun is banned there and they have no clue...

Cheers

Nico

What if its just a low level CAS / ground attack plane? Subsonic, no A2A radar, stealthy and built to survive under enemy air superiority without fighting it?

That thing likely has less payload capacity than a UH-1.

I believe many Iranians won't fall for that crap, either.

Why men throw their lives away attacking an armed Witcher... I'll never know. Something wrong with my face?

The pit is a contradiction on itself.

- The bubble canopy is made of plastic - glass,
(I thought this was a Stealth fighter!?, not to mention the Glass looks like crap)

- The Hood of the Forward Instrument Panel is MIA, the back of each Display, Car Stereo and Gauge is exposed to oncoming radar waves.
(I thought this was a Stealth fighter!?)

- The Car Stereo on top and some of the MFDs is mounted so crappily, i doubt they'd be able to handle 2 or 3 Gs.

- The Back Bottom Center Forward Instrument panel is exposed, pilot can easily put his foot into the wiring harness and screw stuff up
(build quality anyone?, pilot must be careful on the rudder pedals, he might unplug his DVD Player. and Cassette deck,)

- The Flight Stick, Hydrualic Controls on that Airframe? or did they just take the design out of their dying tomcat pits?

- No HUD or Helmet mounted device.

- No Seal Around the Canopy Frame or Cockpit.
(So I guess there's no presurization?)

- No Oxygen system on any of the panels.

The Airframe

- A design like that will not fly without a Computer Aiding the Pilot, Yet the Stick is a Hydraulic Center mounted Stick.

- Gear Doors are Crazy thin, with no hydrualics or pistons visible (do they plan to fly it with it's gear down?)

- It's awefully reflective for something thats supposed to be stealth.

They have one of our drones.. and this is what they come up with?
it looks more like a Black Klingon Bird of Prey than a stealth jet.

But i give the students from that school that built that in their Gym some credit.
