Two men were found murdered at the Rough Creek Lodge shooting range. One of them has been tentatively identified as Chris Kyle, the SEAL sniper.

The assailant stole his truck and has been arrested. He left behind a wife and two little ones. He and I were students together at Tarleton State University, but, no, I did not know him well.

RIP, sailor. Fair winds and following seas, sir.

The news is getting worse. The accused murderer is a 25 year old former Marine suffering from PTSD.

Absolutely tragic! I loved his book and watched him on the Stars Earn Stripes TV show. Saw his interview on O'Reilly too. A real American hero. What a #%&*$# way to go. 4 tours in Iraq and a fellow veteran kills him at point blank range due to a PTSD freak out?. Nuts.

A shame to hear. Sadly, it's so common.

I refuse to buy a flight sim that I have no interest in playing, on the off chance that MAYBE someday they'll make the one I really want to play.

the gun nonsense the media is cramming down the people's throats is pushing unstable people over the edge, i think

It's just the odds. Over 1500 people have been killed by guns since the Sandy Hook massacre in the U.S. It's a fact of life. A daily occurrence. The vast majority don't get publicity like this. Call it nonsense, or whatever, but it is what it is.

What an irony, murdered by a fellow veteran...plus the Far West story à la Wild Bill Hicock". RIP, Sir.

I think there is more to this than just "odds". And I'm not talking conspiracy nonsense either.

I never got around to reading his book.

I'm curious about Routh's story.

Damn, that sad.

Good people sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

Someday your life will flash in front of your eyes. Make sure it is worth watching.

I got to talk to him briefly at SHOT Show 2012 due to the fact that we both knew some of the same people. Just the 5-10 minutes I got to spend talking with him one afternoon was enough for me to gauge that the man was just a consummate professional that loved working with those who needed/wanted his help. He will be missed.
