Alicatt,I remember playing my Dad's copy of Laughter with a Bang when I was just a lad. It was rude,but not like the crudeness you get today. And it was very funny.

I worked at a cemetary when I was 16 and we occasionally used dynamite to soften rock in a grave, which were all hand dug back then. We usually only used half a stick and put a sand bag over it. I was asked by a neighbor to remove a metal pipe set in concrete that her mailbox was installed on. The had troubles with vandals knocking the box off and eventually decided to make the box enclosed in rockwork. The person that put it in used a lot of cement and when I drilled under it and set off half a stick, it did nothing. I scaled up to 1 stick and it still did not dislodge the post, so I put in 2 sticks. I had to go back to my house and get a chain say to remove the tree limb that the post was driven into when it shot out of the concrete. It might be a good thing that dynamite is no longer so easy to get ahold of...
