For today, nearly a dozen missions have had minor updates for ease in mission selection. I've edited my beach landing mission so we start outside the vehicle, same with my Sherman armor mission. Both have been their difficulty stiffened, as well.

Tigerwulf's great "Secure Blanschen" mission has also been updated for a better mission starting position.

See you guys there!

Dont think of it as being vastly outnumbered ... but just having a large target selection.

The only thing more accurate than incoming fire, is incoming friendly fire

Hi, Noob here...

Someone on Grogheads recommend joining here on Saturday Afternoons.. what will be the server password?.. Also do you need to download anything ahead of time besides the Normand DLC?

Hey HTuna, the password is on the SimHQ TS3 server. You won't need anything else other than the D-Day DLC.

Hope to see you later.

I've got a splitting headache, but will definitely try and be there. I look forward to it all week.

HTuna you only need the base game, DLC to play on the DLC missions and the latest patch. You will also need the TeamSpeak 3 client (free) in order to get the server password and communicate with us. Links to the TS3 info among other useful bits are available on the sticky in the Iron front forum.

See you in the ditches.

Nice turnout today. We didn't have THAT many successful missions though. Here are some screens.

Secure Blanschen... That AT gun placement was perfect at destroying my advance. I was almost laughing at my own folly. biggrin Makes me want to win that one "right" all the more, next time out.

Poor Saghen, I hope he got to play either Windmill or Canyon after I left!

I'm starting to wonder if wandering right down the main road into a fortified crossroads with trenches covering from the heights on both sides is perhaps a bad idea?

Obviously something was amiss. Leading the way with a tank, and motorized M2, and the deepest roadside ditch I've ever seen for cover!

Oh I figured out why the beach mission was so brutal. We apparently got too near the scripted German artillery fire points! I'll tweak them a bit now that I know.

thanks guys, was great to actually play this game online for once, such a shame it got off to a rough start, as it is fantastic these days! People really are missing out not giving it a crack.

Cheers
Craig

The problem with the World is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?

So, how was the playability for you, in terms of lag, etc.? I think you express concern previously about being able to play.

if these turn outs keep increasing we will need new some bigger missions and new versions of canyon and windmill....

Great games last night. I had a lot of fun, teamwork and comms were really good ingame.

The HQ tank assault was cool, I like the addition of the obstacles and the camo netted Stugs were great targets to try to deal with. Our tank took fire from one. I had to turn in and get our driver to reverse out of trouble before flanking it.

It was awful hearing Charlie get wiped out on the convoy ambush. If they had survived it would have been a very effective ambush.

Blanscen was going so well, mutual support and recon is vital in that mission.

Yep, we're going to be needing some platoon size missions I think smile Mind you the tank and squad missions are good for alot of players too.

these numbers are also getting a bit large for one squad lead we might have to start splitting into to two units (not sure of the real designation) with 2 squads in each, that may have been a part of the problem with the charlie massacre

That would be about half or two thirds of a platoon. So you'd have a platoon leader and two squads of 10 or 11.

Edit: that would be for ww2 us squads, the fireteams wouldn't be even. We use modern fireteam style though so it would be about 12/13 per squad with 3 fireteams, 2 of those squads with a platoon leader.

I was thinking more of having two leaders working together rather than one overall,
