While I may have inadvertently gone overboard with the thread title at RoF forum, there has been a wee breakthrough discovered by SYN_Jedders for a problem with the nVIDIA driver/profile settings for
ROF.exe. The issue involves the handling of a certain
Anisotropic Filter Optimization option choice within the nVidia default driver profile for RoF.
Instructions for resolving this problem are proving to help many players greatly reduce shimmer and generally smooth out game play.
Please check out the thread and the comments by people who have tried them...
http://riseofflight.com/Forum/viewtopic... Below is a MediaFire link to download the PDF with instructions to resolve this driver profile issue, and then some recommended settings that generally will provide you with a solid playable foundation with less-to-no-shimmer and better performance. Then you can move forward and tweak your own RoF GFX settings to find that sweet spot for your system.
Download the PDF to your desktop and view, because the online MediaFire PDF reader is overlapping some letters (at least for me).
