I'm talking about enjoying your meal and then all of a sudden WHAM! You just bit a piece of the inside of your cheek off. Hurts like crap and almost makes you want to cry until you get a handle on the pain.

Then that wound gets slightly swollen so its always just sitting there right on the outside of where your teeth come together waiting to be chomped again. You forget all about it until supper time and then WHAM! Now you're laying on the couch with your head in your hands and crying.

Hate that. frown

I love the CRUNCH sound it makes, like a piece of raw celery. I'm surprised I've never bitten a hole right through my cheek, because it sure feels like I did.

Yeah, hate it when it happens. Almost as bad as pizza burn to the roof of your mouth!

lol my thoughts exactly. Doesn't help that you can hear the sound it makes when you bite yourself too. frown

My Dad is always biting his tongue. You'll hear him say, "Is my tongue bleeding"? as he sticks out a bloody tongue. Then he always gets a tea bag to soak it up which always give me the heeby geebies.

I hear you Mace. And there's nothing like the feeling of accidentally swallowing something that was piping hot only to have it scald your throat all the way down to your stomach lol.

I usually get that every two-three months, but the worst experience was after leaving the dentist, back when I was 15. I grabbed something to eat and after the second bite I head the sound, and felt some liquid running down my mouth. Even after 30 minutes, when the anesthesia faded, I couldn't bear the pain. Left a mark, which thankfuly is hidden. At least it wasn't my tongue.

Hot coffee or hot coco scald right down the middle of your tongue is great and you get to enjoy that one for days if it was hot enough.

I was just talking to my daughter about this. You have the same mouth all your life and then suddenly you decide to bite it. You bite it in the same place a few times then months or years can pass and you do it again. screwy

Yup, and my mind seems to be in a rush to get out as many expletives as possible when I do, which subsequently come out as a garbled mess.

The 'crunch' turns my stomach.

Bit my tongue three days ago. Luckily it's just sore now. Usually it's the side of my mouth. It's usually reminder that I need to stop chewing so fast.

And then to add to the pain, it turns into a mouth ulcer

This phenomenom seems to exist to remind me that no matter what, I will always be a little nerd. I imagine that even Adolf Hitler had this moment while chewing on a carpet.
