Well after a move and a lot of time off I am back on the 737 build.

Had to give up space in the basement for our home theater, so I'm stuck out in the gargage. That killed going back to my three projector visuals, so I settled on three 60" Plasma's for now. Finally got one mounted for test flights this week.

Next up is the overhead.

Very, very impressive build.

The college I work at recently PURCHASED a 737 cockpit (I think it was opencockpits based) which cost over £100,000 and it isn't a patch on yours! They don't even have visuals yet !

Very well done.

More pictures please ....

Andy

PS love the excited pilot.

Very nice! And don't get me wrong I'd love to fly a civ pit like yours but I couldn't imagine myself building one talk about all the work on such a large scale. It's bad enough I haven't worked on my A10C pit past the mock-up stage! I truly admire the scope and vision behind a project such as yours.

More displays arrived. Still dialing them in, but going to try a night flight.....

Really adds to the immersion.

Received my overhead panel parts from FDS yesterday, so I started installing all the switches and annunciators I had built up a few weeks ago. Hopefully this weekend I can start wiring them to the board and get them working in the sim so I can do the full cold and dark start sequence .

More pics this weekend.

Didn't get as far as I would have liked. There's a lot of switches and annunciators to wire....

Seems like a lot of work for what can be done easier and cheaper with just short throw projectors.

Then again, my friend Scott in the above example has already dropped projectors and moved onto 60" TV's, though I run three and he runs 5 screens now smile

Easier? Yep!
Cheaper? Maybe.
Better? Not a chance.
