I was not aware of any health issue but maybe you should have sent a pm directly to Magnum?

Yeah, he talked about his dizziness and falling.

Yeah, dizzy and falling is not a normal part of 'getting old'....
And AFAIK, he's not even retired yet.
I don't think 'age' is an issue.
Probably has something minor, but needs attention....I'm hoping.
Would like to hear something from him, to be sure though...?
He posted yesterday on the cop car thread, so he's 'around'.

Maybe he's done...'nothing', about it, and doesn't want to own up to that wink .

I have a 'police dog' photo, I think he'd like... smile

Thank you all for your concern.... what started out as the family doctor telling me that i possibly had a brain tumor next to my spine, turned out to be all wrong, and i don't bring my family to that doctor anymore, lol... last week I passed out and when I came too i was still in a huge, fast spinning dizzy spell, I was alone and thought I was dying so called 911, I crawled out to the front lawn, because i didn't want them coming in because of the dogs... and waited, when they arrived i had a fast heart rate and high blood pressure, cold and clammy skin thou i was sweating like crazy... by the time i got to the emergency room i was fine... they did a CAT scan and blood work and found NOTHING, so now I'm waiting for a neurologist (?) for a full brain/spine eval... they think either stress (it's been a very bad year last year, and starting the same this year, lol) or a pitched nerve.

So... thxs for your concern, but it seems to be nothing... still getting dizzy once or twice a day, and a constant next strain/pain... but looks like old age. wink

Thx again. wink

Still doesn't sound like "nothing" to me. nope

I refuse to buy a flight sim that I have no interest in playing, on the off chance that MAYBE someday they'll make the one I really want to play.

Stress can be a real 'monster' Magnum. Works on your body and you don't even know it.
I went through the same thing 'almost', I knew something was very wrong, I'd lost a lot of weight in just six months, went from 180 to 140lbs. Went to the Dr....they passed me around like a cheap whore. Did all the tests I could take.
I even became allergic to the CAT scan dye I had so many. Heart doctor, blood doctor, nerve doctor, MRI's, finally found I had a non malignant tumor in my Appendix, had that removed, and they all told me I was now OK.
I had that taken out, but I knew it wasn't the problem.

Finally I insisted on going to the University of Michigan, went to the head of the Gastro-intestinal Dept....he gave me another battery of 'tests'.....I just kept going, because I knew I'd die if I didn't find it.
Finally a good specialist who worked for him, dropped a doplar down my throat, stuck it next to my pancreas, and found 20% of the tail end of my pancreas was nothing but dead tissue.

They all got in a huddle, and decided it wasn't too much drinking, I'd given that up when I transferred out of the Vice Section, decades ago....it wasn't food, I didn't over eat, and am the proper weight for my height.
It wasn't in my DNA, nobody in my family ever had pancreatitis.
That left only one thing...stress.

The head 'witch doctor' took me in his office and told me, it's either a life time of stress, possibly the blow on your back from a shotgun butt back in '1975' (undercover/mistaken ID)....or you're having a bad reaction to the statin drugs you're taking for cholesterol and it ate your pancreas (discovered that from the blood testing). But it's rare to have the first organ attacked, be your pancreas, usually it's the kidneys.

Then he leaned forward and said...."We will never know for sure, but I'd put my money on a lifetime of stress."
"They used you right up."
'There's 'nothing' we can do for you now....you'll have to live with it. You're lucky we found it in time, you were dying of 'Mal-absorption'. Nothing you ate was being digested.'

They sent me home with enzymes for digestion, and I've gained all my weight back, I try not to post in the PWEC anymore...lol....and I take things easier.

Back from the dead.

This should give you two bits of good advice from an old man....first, "don't give up", no matter what they tell you, if I had, I'd be dead now. It's up to you to keep looking, 'they' don't really care, as much as you do.

Second....Stress can be a real "bear" for your body to deal with. You might not even realize how bad it's hurting you, or 'what' it's hurting, but it does kill people. You have to deal with that problem.....fix it. Get away from the stress, or find some Xanax. Your body can't keep going, without breaking, if you don't fix it.

I hate to preach to you....I know you're biting your lip wink , but I'm afraid you'll end up where I was heading, if you don't do something about it. I have to say something. It'd be ironic, to have that 'get' you, after you've made it this far..... wink

Smile;

Well Magnum, thanks for the update and I hope it turns out to be nothing serious. And if it is `just` stress, then considering your symptoms, better dial it down a couple of notches mate.

Sounds pretty bad. I hope it'll turn out to be nothing serious and you'll be back to health shortly.

You mentionned a "bad year", and the symptoms you described remind me of some mild panic attacks I experienced a few years back after I went through a complicated time myself, so maybe it is indeed stress-related.

Anyhoo, let the Docs (except for that tumor guy) do their job and find a way to get you back in top shape.

Cheers

Nico

Those are exactly the same symptoms I had before I went in the hospital last year, never did determine exactly what it was, so they treated it as anxiety.

Know you're not alone in your bad year, Magnum. It's been stressful for many of us.

This morning I found out a friend of mine's little son died after a long fight with cancer. It really hit me hard. Try and focus on what is RIGHT with your life, because nothing worthwhile comes from focusing on the negative.
