Do you have the ACMI that was created by Lars "Bimo" Birkemose (if so, I've not previously heard that it doesn't work with XP)?

Esa, IMO you definitely have a corrupted file. Check the sites listed in the FAQ for downloads and see if you can find one to download and try that. If you can't find one or if a freshly downloaded one still doesn't work, let us know.

iam, I'm surprised that you are having problems with it, because I've not heard of anyone else (other than Esa) having problems with Bimo's ACMI with XP. Maybe you ought to try a freshly downloaded ACMI, as suggested for Esa.

I get the same thing Doc. My ACMI hasn't worked since i got XP years ago. Keeps coming up with something like the operating system does not run DOS for this program to work, or something like that.

Interesting--you guys are the only ones that I have heard about who have had problems with ACMI and XP.

If iam and Esa still have problems even after installing a freshly downloaded ACMI, I can contact bimo (the creator of ACMI) to see what he thinks.

I haven't use ACMI in years, buy I just downloaded it and it installed fine. It also played back a short mission jsut fine. It may be unstable during longterm use, as iam says, but I definitely didn't have problems installing it.

I have WinXP Home with SP2.

Thanks Doc.
unfortunately I set the exe to compatibility mode for win 95, win 98, win 2000. But still doesn't work.
Still comes up with an error saying something operating system does not support DOS.

I'd like to see a screenshot of this error.

Also, here is the download link I used: http://seawolves.org/aw/downloads/fa18_acmi.zip
This download from this link worked for me, so maybe you're downloading a bad upload? Try my link.

Looks ot me like the error you get when you're trying to execute an corrupted EXE...

"This program cannot run in DOS mode"

Ok will do joe.
I'm at work right now, so when I get home tonight i'll take a screen print of the error and try the ACMI from the link you have posted.
One thing though where do i send the screen dump pic of the error?
Thanks again guys.

If you have webspace, you can upload it there and link to it here. You can also upload to a number of free image hosting services, such as tinypic.com.

As a last resort you can email it to me and I'll host it. No guarantee how long it will stay up, though; my webspace capacity is severly limited right now due to all of the images I am using for TSH development.
