I just want to get everyones opinion on utilizing time acceleration in a flight sim. I try not to use it that often. It feel DIRTY whenever i use it. Some mission are so long, however, that it is almost mandatory to use TA at some point in the game. Do any of you guys feel as soiled as i do when using TA?

I use it all of the time. As CatsEyes says, life is to short to fly 200nm ingresses in realtime. Also, I get limited flying time as it is, and I don't feel like spending a lot of that time at angels 25 and 350 knots, puttering along. \:\)

I still have the bug where it won't accelerate for me. how did you guys fix it or did you just never experience it at all?

Hell not only don't I use Time Compression, I spend 2 hours preflighting the bird before I take off and pee in a little bag during the flight!

DAMN! I wish we had to flip all them dang switches like the F4 folks do in a Ramp Start!!!

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Realism is fine, but anything you do to enhance your enjoyment of a ga... er.. SIM is perfectly respectable and right.

I don't experience it. It does drop back from time to time, but Elf told us that was intended behavior when there is too much going on. Perhaps your CPU is being loaded to the point where there would be too much going on all of the time...

Here's some things to try:
- go to custom keyboard mapping and confirm that PAGE UP and PAGE DOWN actually are controlling time acceleration
- try time acceleration in a very simple mission; First Look, or even a custom mission where all there is is the Player plane.

IMHO, if computer games had no time compression it would eliminate a lot of simmers. I know I already have very little time to play and it would be even shorter if I didn't use time compression. I believe that boNes uses no time-compression on some missions for realism. A true hardcore simmer!!!!

Yeah, I refrain from using it for SOME missions, but believe me, if I had to fly all the way to Baghdad, Teheran or AFghanistan, that time compression is popping on! Refer to Recluse's post for my reasons why.

I forgot to add that I have experienced that bug Huck sometimes. I drops back from 8x to 4x to 2x in a matter of seconds. I have to just keep hitting page up like I'm playing a keyboard arcade game to keep it up. I noticed this more with Ripcord's OPF campaign cause I've found that there is more going on in the OPF campaign than the stock ncape missions.

I NEVER use time acceleration and never press pause button during bombing run. \:\)

Even it is long mission that will take me around 30 minutes to a hour to arrive the target but I still never use TA..
