Good to see people are still using this little guide, thanks for all the support!

Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty. This is known as "bad luck.” -Robert Heinlein

I got it working. More info on the ED-forum. I just PM'd Para_Bellum to check if it's okay if I make this version public. I'll follow up and post a download link here if I receive a positive reply from him.

Thanks Yurgon! I've updated the starting post with the new mission file.

I've updated the starting post with the new mission file. Cool. I think this was the first combat mission I ever flew in Black Shark, I think it's going to remain a very valuable resource for new pilots.

I think this was the first combat mission I ever flew in Black Shark, I think it's going to remain a very valuable resource for new pilots. Definitely. I've more or less got the hang of flying now so I'm moving on to learn the weapons system and find it almost impossible to spot the enemy, even when they're shooting at me, so having this tutorial which shows me where to look will at least give me a chance to learn how to locate them

Can't help there. Only suggestion is to try opening the file up in the BS1 mission editor and then saving it. Long shot, but what the heck.

Try this one: How_To_Take_Off_and_Blow_Stuff_Up.mizThis should be the one I used as a basis for the modification to work with DCS World. I just loaded it up in BS1 1.0.2 and it looked okay. If it works for you, I'll add the checksums later. Edit checksums: MD5: c6ab5c498a6b32d31572d1a0d7b2b8bf SHA1: 6a75e88ee70ba12d2e7226d34a3e53f67e4e5558 SHA256: a5154e91574c7aef5adb6d0b4798c548247fa65f8ba3e92c1f5b1f34d113df4b

Thanks, Yurgon. It seems to load fine - I'll report back if I discover any problems. Edit: it runs too - I took too long spotting the tanks and by the time I'd got the Shkval lining up, they were firing back - the ejector seat works, anyway...

Yup, sounds like the mission is working perfectly fine. You probably already figured this out, but (not just in the tutorial) try to stay out of the enemy's engagement range. Your Vikhr ATGMs will outrange all MBTs even in the most daring scenarios. Spotting the enemy soon enough is what it's really all about.
