Just wondering... I don't mean any questions about 'why did you leave 1C' or 'what really happened to Cliffs of Dover' (there is a whole other forum for that) but things like:
- What was your favourite expansion - Favourite aircraft - What do you think about what TDaidolos has done/is doing with the sim - What did you do to the Mosquito Mk IX, and why - What do you think about what modders have done with the sim (and what are your favourite mods) etc - What do you think is the future for PC sims/gaming/3D modelling
Just one of those idle rainy day threads...who knows, he may come past one day! A friend of mine met him at a flight sim show in Birmingham a few years ago, evidently his favourite aircraft is the 109 I seem to remember reading at the UBI forums that he would fly online with a 109 with the rest of the IL-2 crowd. He may still fire it up on occasion but he definitely isn't flying under his own name anymore. Wheels

I'd ask him "What the h@ll happened?"
Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.

I'm curious where the latest developments leave Luthier. No matter what happened, it seems the poor guy tried to make it work 'til the end. From the outside, it appeared he tried to deliver on Oleg's vision. I doubt we'll ever know what really transpired between the successful IL-2 seminal versions and the ill-fated "SoW:BoB/Cliffs of Dover". It's all so sad to see how it played out over the years.

Considering that Jason and Ilya are/were ??/ friends until as recently as March 2011 Jason might know but so far he isn't telling. My trip to Moscow: http://www.simhq.com/_air13/air_464b.htmlOn a side note, an unexpected opportunity arose when I learned that my long-time friend Ilya Shevchenko from IL-2 was still in Moscow for another night and we could meet up for dinner. I had just arrived and he was on his way back to the States. We live fairly close to each other in California and to get together in Moscow was a surreal experience. It’s weird how life works that way sometimes. We met up and had an interesting conversation about our respective development activities and the evolution of each team. We talked about the weird rivalry between our two products on the forums, the genesis of it and the future of both teams. We respect each other and we believe in friendly competition. We both wish the community would see it the same way and be supportive of both products. Wheels
