Not necessarily my most anticipated film for next year, but definitively the most curious I am to watch.

Will be there on opening night with soda pop and popcorn bucket at ready.

Can't help but wonder how things would've been different had he stayed with the Hobbit. We certainly wouldn't have this.

Hey, they're using the Mass Effect Cerebus armor!

I think some people might get the feel like this is a Transformers or Battleship kind of movie.

This is actually a very thought out project by Guillermo del Toro, and even though there is definitively an amine/manga vibe to it, the character depth he always gives his movies is what (I hope) makes a difference from this to your usual summer dumb-action popcorn fare.

Definitively risky for someone who has made a name for himself mostly in magical realism, horror and fantasy movies. But I think he can pull off sci-fi fantasy pretty good.

I'm glad he didn't do The Hobbit. If anyone other than Jackson would had attempted that, the expectations and comparisons would had killed the project before start (plus PJ is a controlling SOB tyrant ). At least if Jackson fails, it was always his to ruin...or hopefully, make it memorable.

I think I wish rather that Del Toro had gotten to do "At The Mountains of Madness". He seem like the right guy to translate Lovecraft to film.

Unfortunately, I mostly turn off as soon as I see F22s flying down streets between skyscrapers. Which was, in this case, in the opening 10 seconds!

Might catch a Sunday afternoon TV repeat.

Errff. I get enough of that kind of weather in real life,
I don't need to sit through a movie full of it...

Are the Human controllers in the robots or are they far away in some base somewhere?

I don't think that is answered by the small amount of footage present.

Looked like they were together in a room somewhere, so I guess it's remote like a drone, but I only watched the trailer one time.

Upon further reflection, there's a giant rotating sphere in the upper right of the one shot. It would make no sense in a remote site, but if they were in the robot's chest it would make sense as a possible arm joint counterweight.

This definitely has the Voltron/Tranzor Z feel to it. I'm not really familiar with true Anime or Mass Effect.

I predict this movie will tank at the box office, regardless of whether it's any good (it looks kinda dumb).

It needs to make a good profit, it doesn't really matter anymore WHERE the money comes from.
