Official AnnouncementGood day pilots! So, the long wait is over and we're ready to put the rumors to rest. 777 Studios partners with 1C to form 1C Game Studios (1CGS) and develop IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of StalingradYou can read the full announcement on the official website of the game at http://il2sturmovik.net. We also invite you to our new forum, where you will find additional information about the project and will be able to ask questions and chat with the developers. To all our ROF customers and fans - this is not the end of ROF development or new content. Please do not panic. We are still working on the details and we will inform you once we have them. Right now all current releases we promised are on schedule. On a personal note - the ROF community and your support has made this day possible. We have always wanted to make a WWII product and your support of our WWI product has afforded us this opportunity. Now you will be able to enjoy both WWI and WWII products produced by our team and new expanded team. If all goes to plan there will be much to be happy about in the coming months and years. We hope you will stick by us and continue to support our flight-sim endeavors. Onward and upward! The Entire 777 Studios team

Wow. Huzzah Huzzah Huzzah. Such great news.
I always wanted to fly actual missions in Stalingrad. The stock campaign in Il-2 was disappointing at best.
Jason, how big is the theater going to be? Is it Just the City and the periphery (the Russian Army and German 6th, as well as the Romanians and Italians to the North?) Or will it extend down to Kharkov?
Will the Campaign actually follow the progression of the battle and eventually lead to the encirclement of General Paulus army?
Is it at all possible to have a dynamic campaign?

I guess that depends on how closely it adheres to ROF as it is now. We have the career beta which isn't exactly the same, but it's not that far removed. I don't know if they'll be able to make it more offline-based than ROF is now. The Jedi Master

Sad to drop Clodo much better engine :-( I beg to differ! I think the ROF engine is far superior to COD's engine for sure. I just hope they push the ROF engine to what it can handle so we can have some bigger furballs than we currently see in ROF.
