Can anyone comment on the Maple Flag Mission set? Is it worth the money?

I'm looking for more training, but I'm worried that these are just "tests". Are they helpful?

I've tried them when they were still free, and they are quite good. Worth the admission price, which is what, $5?

Love them. In the briefing you find some instructions what you have to do, to pass the test.

I seem to remember seeing very similar versions of these missions in the ED user file database...?

You have to buy a 'key' to be able to fly those - it does say so on the descriptions at the DCS site.

However, at $5 per go it soon adds up. That's $40 for the eight 'basic training' missions.

I say it as I see it

I think that is $5 for the basic training campaign - which is X amount of missions (8?).. So it isn't $5 per shot.. Or at least it wasn't a few months back unless something has changed..

Save your money, they are not training missions, they are more like Check Flights, with pass fail criteria. The Practice missions are not bad.............

I would of liked to see more of a training scenario in them, they would of gotten a lot more sales out of them in my opinion.

I could use some good training on the details in ILS, TACAN navigation. Doing Weapons range training would be good too. These guys are good at mission building, I won't purchase any more of the series since it's more of a check ride. And I asked why I kept failing a mission after it said I did everything correctly. I was told they made them hard because a few people wanted something very challenging. I wanted to say they should of made a easy series for those of us who aren't that good at it yet, then we could move on to the more difficult scenarios.

they are cheap so it's not to bad if you don't like them in the end.

Cheers

Hoss
