Hi,

I bought a T Flight HOTAS X from Thrustmaster as a replacement for my old Thrustmaster Afterburner II.It looks exactly the same but with a few extra button. BUT, it has no programming/mapping software, Thrustmapper doesn't recognise it. I can't believe it. Anyway, is there a way to trick Windows into thinking the HOTAS X is an afterburner?

What I most need is a "shift" button and then deadzone/linearity adjustment.

Having had a programmable joystick, I find it hard to go backwards.

Thanks

Hi,

Thanks, that gives me the driver, not programming software like the old Thrustmapper that worked on my Afterburner 2.

The driver won't let me assign shift keys, set linearity etc.

Is there any other solution?

Won't it work with TARGET?

There are only four peripherals I know of supported by T.A.R.G.E.T.:

-HOTAS Cougar
-HOTAS Warthog
-T.16000-M
-MFD Cougar

Doesn't look like TM/Guillemot bothered to support anything else of theirs. Most irritatingly, there are no rudder pedals in that list (unless you count slaving gameport pedals to a HOTAS Cougar)...

Looks like it doesn't support Tflight - I downloaded and tried it anyway and got this:

Mapped plugin module "C:\Program Files (x86)\Thrustmaster\TARGET\Plugins\sys.dll"
Physical USB HID devices managed by script!
Currently plugged USB HID devices[1]:
1: "T.Flight HOTAS X" - "USB\VID_044F&PID_B108&REV_0100"
USB HID device with hardware id "VID_044F&PID_0402" cannot be found
Virtual HID devices managed by script!
Connecting virtual joystick...Done
Device name set to Thrustmaster Combined
Connecting virtual keyboard...Done
Connecting virtual mouse...Done

main returned 0

There is a reference to it there...but I can't seem to do anything with it.

If you are familiar with target - can I move on from this?

Sounds like the only thing you can do is either 1) assign buttons in the sim, or 2) write an Autohotkey script.

Or JoyToKey:

-easy to setup
-low memory usage
-if sim support alt+TAB can be started after open sim and configured "in game"
-support up to 3 keys peer button
-support press,hold, repeat
-distinguish right/left CTRL/SHIFT/ALT
-allow use axis as button or divide axis in three bands
-"Shift" function

Thanks Sokol1

While reading up on the warthog, I saw a few references to joy2key and thought I should look into that. Would have saved time just checking back here again, but I thought the post was dead.

I ended up biting the bullet and have a warthog on order - will keep the trusty hotasX for less demanding sims than a10c

BTW, does anyone know if there is a particular firmware/driver/Target/plugin order I should follow once the warthog arrives?
