Was on a fence about this one but seeing this made my mind. A shame that another good franchise is being turned into a generic TPP stealth/shooting game. Now it looks more like SC Conviction. Well, at least I'll save some money for holiday sales and maybe pick this one up in a year for 5-7 euros.

Not at all, the reviews I have seen have all said that it is still a Hitman game. Everything that has been added in to help new players can be turned off. Total Biscuit is terrible at playing games so I wouldn't judge the game by his gameplays.

I think people are judging this as it should be Blood Money 2.0 rather than a new Hitman game.

A one hour preview from this blowhard "TotalBiscuit"!?? Gimme a break. I’m not going to listen to this windbag for an hour.

From the segments of this vid that I did watch, I’m definitely getting Absolution now biggrin

Especially since I heard the “Purist Mode” won’t have to be unlocked ...

Actually I find his previews to be very accurate. And I don't focus on his gameplay but rather on what he says during it. Smaller maps, story driven chapters, less freedom, dumb QTE. All of this sounds pretty bad to me. And I was expecting Blood Money 2.0 since it did so well in every aspect. Changes aren't always good.

But it's because of his bad game playing that he bases his views of games upon. Many times in other videos he has gotten annoyed at a game and called it bad because he can't play it!

Added to that I simply don't like him, I think he's arrogant and up himself and believes his own hype.

Well, I see some of you on SimHQ will buy it so I'am looking forward for your impressions. For now I stick with what I saw. Got burnt to many times on premiere so I'll definitely wait for a sale with this one.

Seems like the older games were pretty unforgiving with the disguises and easy to have a kill blow up into a gun fight. I'll check and see if it's unlocked, might be able to mess with it some this afternoon.

edit: 11 hrs to go. Preload is flying at about 3.5 MB/s though.

Can't say that I find his review particularly bad or unfair. I just don't necessarily share all of his points.

From what I've seen in all the videos so far, there seem to be many different possibilities again to get the job done, possibly even more than in the former games. So from that perspective, Absolution seems to be a perfect Hitman game again.

I'm still very sceptical about this game though and will definitely wait for more reviews and comments of the community.

What I already like is that the player can turn off all the help the game offers on easier game setting. I was kind of concerned about that. And if the game is really more story driven, as the reviewer suggests, than that isn’t necessarily a bad thing for me, personally, as that is exactly what I am looking for when playing SP games. And I’d love to have more depth added to the character 47.

Posted my thoughts here:

I'll spend more time on it this week, but I'm not in any big rush to do so, unfortunately.

Not a bad game so far, got it from Green Man Gaming for $29 bucks. I have played the first one many years ago & has the similar flavor but it has been simplified on the lower difficulty. I plan on playing it on normal & then try it on the higher ones if it keeps my interest. Playing at 1920*1080 Getting around 45-55 FPS on Ultra sttings with Tesselation & Mlaa off. Looks Gorgeous & can't wait to try the contracts gameplay. So far pretty entertaining.
