It's just so hopeless trying to explain to 1C/Maddox that sometimes telling the truth can save lots of aggrivation

Did it ever occur to anyone its impossible for the developer (IC Maddox Games) to make any comments, until told to do so by the IC Group. IC Maddox Games is just trying to produce a decent WW2 sim, keep their jobs, and waiting their fate just like the rest of us. IC Group will make the official announcement, probably only if they decide to continue the development in one form or another. Even IC can't say anything until the decision is made...just saying they haven't decided yet...won't help the situation. Like I said before, if its bad news, we will hear about it in the Russian forums soon enough. All we know officially for now is the development is working on the Sequel. If they were told to stop working on the Sequel, I think that situation would be leaking in the Russian forums, far more than the couple of rumours that we've heard so far.

Interesting post in the IC forums from podvoxx, its almost positive. It seems to be saying the announcement will be out in a couple of weeks or sooner. With maybe "some" positive info.

We all know the announcements which will be made "soon", but were never made...

In June.

Now now, lets show the devs we believe in them...by any measure the sim&/business model is a complicated project. Our show of support would help a lot more than our complaints could.

Its quite possible IC has been in discussions for many months with an investor like their own government to help sponsor work on a series of historical Russian fronts. These talks could take months and they don't need alot of negative speculation coming from the forums as "everything", however small, is taken into consideration when making deals. This would be free money to help finish the game engine, and provide a historical account of the sacrifices and courage of the Russian people during the Great War. A win win situation. You gotta love positive speculation, hate negative speculation.

If a series of historical Russian fronts are made, it could delay other fronts like the Med, but it would be a small price to pay. That said I can easily see the development contracting out larger fronts if they are tied up with other contractual duties, or even expand development crew if backed by government monies. Again only specualting.

Announcements are a dime a dozen. I'll believe when I hear beta testers making veiled comments skirting their NDAs, not before!

Remember the announcement, with in-game video footage on the Il-2:46 DVD, of Storm of War: BOB, coming out late 2006?
CloD looks nothing like that. It's not SOW renamed, CloD is literally something totally different. Pardon me for not putting any faith in announcements...unless it's "we're canned."

People have predicted the death of SOW/COD for years, somehow the development keeps stumbling along. Which is good news for most of us.

Ehum .. a Russian government sponsored flight sim title about the air war over the Russian fronts? That I'd like to read a review of (and never play). My guess is that it wouldn't exactly be the pinnacle of accuracy (to put it mildly) and they would need more than an epilepsy-filter to keep sim fans from getting seizures. It would be hilarious though so what the hey, I support it.
