For the past few months I have been thinking about making a cockpit and last weekend I decided to make a start...

I want to do this project right and therefore its going to take a few months, I am using a set of original blueprints and have started modelling the cockpit section as can be seen below.

Specifically the cockpit is going to be a replica of the Dora variant.

At the moment the plan is to have only three parts made from wood, the base front and back, the rest will be made from aluminium. The plan is also to design it to disassemble into five major components so its not a hassle when I leave.

Anyway I will keep you posted on its progress... salute

Always been my dream to have a great Fw cockpit. Something about painting those camo colors...

Looking forward to seeing yours come to life. Best of luck!

Climbing in and out of a cockpit is no fun. Look into hinging the left console.

Cliffs of Dover, so I have a few years to make it before we even get a 190 sigh , until then I will use it for FSX and the Classic Hangers Fw 190.

Today I received the first components..

This is the throttle handle. I aim to have the throttle function before next year including prop pitch, if I can get the time (sorry for the poor quality photos).

P.S. I would also like to thank weisse13 and MMaister for inspiring me to start off this project.

Hey Krupi,

It looks like a very cool and ambitious project! I will definitely follow this one with great interest!
Will it be a dummy cockpit, or do you plan to have working switches, instruments interacting with the running simulators?

Good question, at the moment I plan on having all the switches and instruments working on the lower stringer instrument panel and on the left and right consoles aka "Geraetebank". This will allow me to use all the systems modelled for the FSX Classic Hanger Fw 190 and for Cliffs of Dover the right instrument panel buttons will be used to for selecting certains engines/fuel tanks etc...

I did think about having all the instrument panels but as I fly full real it didn't make sense as I will be using the upper and mid panels in the sim.
