No amount of over-the-top music can disguise this dinosaur!
To take a 15 year old game, make some half assed minor upgrades (16 bit colour => 32 bit and so on) and then sell at full price = RIP OFF.
I am NOT gonna buy this second time around...

I love CC but obviously they're not quite as much fun as an intense modern shooter. Still, I have special reason to like Russian Front/Cross of Iron: if you win as the Germans a little video plays and my grandfather is in it (in 1944!) So I play it sometimes

sure: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hsm4iibbj...e=results_videoIn the first 2 clips, where a captain of the Sturmartillerie is awarding an Iron Cross to an NCO, the captain is my grandfather. The film was shot in Normandy in 1944 and I remember him telling me he had to park the StuGIII in the barn because of prowling US aircraft. I don't think he ever saw the film but a photo of the same event (shot by a German army press team?) is in his photo albums. He was captured shortly afterwards and sent to the USA as a prisoner of war where he was paroled and worked on a farm until he went home in 1946. His oldest daughter (my mum) was born in 1947 and went on to marry a British artillery officer based in Germany in 1968. Initially my grandfather wasn't keen on her marrying the enemy but they later became good friends and could talk about Russian submachineguns and gun barrel lengths etc.

It is dated, but I'll consider getting it. I bought the update to CC3 a few years back and it brought back the memories.

Great story IAN BOYS!...Thank you for sharing it. It is always good to be reminded that those games are based on reality and that what we take for granted and come to disrecpect or underestimate was gained through a terrible struggle involving good humans being on both sides. I had similar experiences when the "Wall" fell and got to meet former cold ennemies. It was and still is a sobbering experience!
