Yeah, they appear to be taking great liberties but, as long as they stick to the main themes of the book, I can be happy with it.

That book is too big to be flmed, it should've been a multi-part miniseries a'la Band of Brothers. Yes, I'm still gonna go, my expectations are so very low, that I'll probably enjoy it somewhat.

Bad CGI bad acting bad everything. That movie should NOT be a movie about the nuclear family staying together against all odds. Total betrayal of the book. Not even worth downloading, from the looks of it.

Read the first script was very close to what the book tried to do. It wasn't "Hollywood" enough with a struggling everyman searching for something, so they changed everything....

As long as they tell the individual stories right, I don't care if it happens in real time or after the fact.
There were several scenes with Israeli soldiers in it and the story of Israel was one of my favorite parts of the book. If they get that (and the battle of Yonkers) right, I will give it 2 thumbs up.

I think I watched it on fast forward or something as the zombies were fast.... WWZ zombies aren't fast, hmmmm. @Lobber - That does not surprise me one bit and thought that would happen anyway when Brad Pitt was going to be in it, he has to win.... Will still see it though

Looked pretty good, but then I didn't read the book. Is this the book that was written like a journal of the guy's daily survival? That might have been something else.

No, it was written as a series of interviews with lots of people who witnessed the War after it's all over. Book is excellent BTW.

Lol to top it all I have read on another forum that Paramount want a PG-13 or 12A in the UK classification for it so that just about does it really, may as well have let Disney make it!

I've come to expect that a film can never do a book justice, but as I've not read this one I fully expect to enjoy this film. I mean it's got zombies in it.

Seeing that and having read the book... I've just written that film off. Why base it on a book when everything about it is going change and bear no relations other than being "a zombie film"??? EDIT: Mace, since this is more up your avenue, you don't mind taking a hit for the team, right?
