Excellent review, Darren! thumbsup

If you haven't given GSC 2012 a try, it very well could be the best 20 bucks you'll ever spend on a sim title.

hear, hear!

I only drove the GSC2012 mini for a few laps. I need to find info on how to setup my wheel/pedals properly to work with the game and then I hope to be good to go.

Reiza really did an excellent job with improving the graphics. At least on my rig the graphical difference between GSC and GSC2012 is amazing!

Superb in-depth review, Darren! thumbsup

GSC2012 is probably the swan song of the gmotor2 engine.

Great review! Thank you for enjoyable read. I am happy user of GSC. Yes, it has limited content, but for what it provides, it's the biggest pleasure and least irritation(with tuning and setup) that I experienced since launch of GTR2.

Every time I am fustrated with rF2 or other alfas/betas over controls and FFB, I get back tp GSC to enjoy place where both of that works so smooth and problem free.

I just took the Mini and the F1 car for a little test drive...very nice! Setup was easy, the interface is fairly straight forward. Maybe my only early complaint is lack of direction heading out of the pits initially. wink

Good stuff! thumbsup

Thanks for your comments fellas. Glad you enjoyed the review. If you're a sim racing fan then the recent price drop to 20 bucks makes this a no brainer. Can't wait to get some mp action at SimHQ soon. yep

Couldn't agree more. Especially when you consider I was also supposed to do a review of WRC3, but this £35 mainstream title didn't recognise my screen resolution, sound card or wheel! hahaha

Great review Darren, I recently gave this one a go and was pretty impressed but what kept me from buying it was I couldn't see myself ever driving the included tracks much, but if I will soon have fellow SimHQ racers to practice and race with, then I will definitely reconsider.

You did me a real service with this review. I've been jonesing for a good single-player racing sim with competent, competitive AI since GTR2 and GT Legends. I never raced rFactor but plunged into iRacing, which I have taken pretty seriously for a while now (but am currently on hiatus.) However, I've missed being able to race in a good SP environment without all the obligations/complications of online interaction/competition yet before reading your review I figured that placed me in a niche market of one. This seems obviously to be the product for me: great physics, strong AI, well modelled cars and tracks, practice, quals, races, no nonsense like imposed narratives, characters or dopey "hero" driving physics. Thanks!

EDIT: Downloading the game now but I've been spoiled by Steam, which appears to store a lot of your data on their servers, thus making very big d/ls pretty quick. This one is projected at 9 hours, via cable!

I'm wondering if GSC2012 shares a particular quirk of GTR2 and GTL, which is that the AI are much faster in practice than in race/quals... I bring this up because I'm finding the AI pace in F3 at Interlagos pretty damn quick. I'm unlikely to get within less than a second of their 1:34s.
