I'm trying to do some basic triggers in a mission. I've tried to figure things out on my own by searching for a more comprehensive explanation about what trigger commands mean what, and then trial and error. No luck.

I'm trying to get a red unit to activate when any blue unit(s) are within a trigger zone, and then deactivate when all blue units are outside of it. I can get it to perform these actions once, however my intent is to have the unit activate, deactivate, activate, deactivate as many times as the blue side enters/exits the zone.

Any suggestions on how to do this? Or better yet, anyone have a reference to a comprehensive document explaining the Mission Editor's triggers list?

Check the "Doc" folder for anything with "GUI Manual" in it. The GUI manual has a listing of all of the triggers.

You can only activate/deactivate a group once. Basically deactivating anything removes it entirely from the game world. It really depends on what you want to do with the unit. If its something like a sam site you can just toggle the group AI on/off as needed.

Deactivating a Group will take it off of the battlefield, and that will also classify the Group as Dead (in v1.1.1.1 anyway). If you want to make the unit act up on a trigger, set up a Triggered Actions for the Group at Waypoint SP or another as appropriate to do Alarm State = Red.

But what I think you want is to have the Red group 'reappear' every time Blue units come around. If that's the case then you need to Copy/Paste the Group multiple times and Deactivate the first, Activate the second, Deactivate second Activate third, etc.

Or, use Triggered Action Invisible. Make your group appear and disappear to the enemy this way. I think Invisible hides the Group even in Fog Of War (?).

I have had varying success with Clients tripping the triggers, BTW. Test test test.
