For most of my teenage and young adult life I was guzzling Dr. Pepper... and eating junk food!
Now that Im pushing 29, my Doctor was worried about some things, especially after my father had a heart attack and stroke while being prepped for emerg. Surgery (perforated ulcer). And spend over a month in ICU on life support before being released to rehab for about a year. And finally coming home 2 years ago.
And because I went from 180~lbs to about 240~, ( I went from warehouse job to desk job. So calorie output went from about 8000-10000/day to 3-4,000 ish, or some where along those lines).
So a few weeks ago we did blood tests. But I got the Lab results a week prior to the doctor, So I had to wait for him to get them for a consult.
And Sure Enough, High Cholesterol (which I think, tbh, runs in the family). Amongst high Cholesterol, it appears I have high glucose levels (thanks to the huge amounts of soda I was drinking). I was also nearly clinically dehydrated. (I didn’t feel it, but the results were “alarming”), as I was always drinking soda and no water (except at hockey practice).
Any way, advice from the Doctor was to cut ALL soda, eat healthier, Eat Less, and exercise more, which I got that same advice while I was in his office while discussing blood tests.
Anyway, I had already started my “Diet” as soon as I walked out of the Doctors office 2 weeks ago.
No Soda, Subway Turkey sandwich on wheet/9grain oat instead of whatever fast food I was eating before for lunch (hardees etc). And if I had time for Breakfast, a bowl of honey nut cheerios. (Instead of big bite hot dog, lol)
So No more 1Ltr Dr. Pepper’s, it’s now 1 Ltr Deer Parks w/ Crystal Light Packets. (at least 3 a day).
Other than the Diet Issues, We seem to be having trouble stabilizing my TSH Levels, as I was born with no Thyroid, I have to take synthroid everyday, but the levels raise and drop all the time, and right now with looking at the graph my levels are “uncontrolled” and I will prolly had to goto a specialist.
My remaining adjustment now needs to be exercise,
Guess I need to fix my NordiTrack, lol. Set it in front of my PC and play some Winter Olympics games, hahaha.
