The site has been relatively the same since 2004 and it is way past due for an overhaul / serious update both code wise and in content structure. You've missed my posts advising readers of the intent and when it is happening, so here is a summary.
First, here is the new forum layout that is in the process of being implemented now:

The site will be recoded to html 5 and css 3 (in 2012) and optimized for mobile with Tapatalk implementation during 2013.
