I read a post in the Community Hall and quite a few players are getting Borderlands 2 for the PC. I have it preordered for the Xbox.

My brother and I are making an event around this games release. We're gonna get together at his lake and game till our eyes bleed. Looking forward to it.

Awesome bisher! That sounds like fun. Hopefully, there are enough players here at SimHQ to get some 4 player coop teams going.

I liked the first one but I'll be passing on this just because once the BF3 Armored Kill DLC comes out tomorrow I'll be playing nothing else for weeks. By then, Medal of Honor: Warfighter will be out.

Borderlands 2 looks fun though. Might pick it up at a later date.

I was, until I got a new PC a couple months back. Most likely be getting the PC version now. If my new puppy ever lets me have time to play games that is...

I refuse to buy a flight sim that I have no interest in playing, on the off chance that MAYBE someday they'll make the one I really want to play.

I'll definitely pick this up day 1 for the 360! Loved the first one and have been waiting for this one a long time. If you need some coop help, hit me up. GT: slash9107. I'm usually on after about 8:00pm eastern time. Depending on workload I usually get some playing time during the day as well but that is a bit more hit or miss.

Nice hat, looks good on you though.

Will do Slash. I'll send you a friend request next time I'm on Xbox Live. I'm going to the midnight madness launch party for Borderlands 2 tonight after work. So I should be playing early Tuesday morning and then on and off throughout the day. Coop is where this game shines!

Some of our local Gamestop stores (like many others around the country) do that with the really popular game releases.

LOL! I was surprised to see about 50 people there picking up Borderlands 2 at midnight. The store had a raffle and gave away Borderlands 2 stuff, t-shirts, strategy guides, posters, etc. They had a Gamestop truck there with 4 game stations and big screens playing games to keep people occupied while they waited. I was leaving the parking lot with game in hand at 12:10 AM, so it was tolerable.

IMO Borderlands is a game people like or don't like without much middle ground. The graphics and presentation are cartoonish. The weapons are hybrids and completely fictional. Some people are put off by the numbers that are displayed (health points) on the screen when you attack an enemy. Some of the enemies are people and others are creatures. There is a sarcastic sense of humor with the main characters and the enemies. The game physics are not realistic for the most part. For example, you can jump from some high places and not sustain any damage. Jumping from really high places will still kill you though. I'm pretty sure that weapon trajectory isn't modeled and bullet flight is like a laser beam. You play a vault hunter on the planet Pandora and there are 4 characters to choose from with different skills.

It's really an over the top game that is akin to playing a role in a comic book. With all that said, the game is a lot of fun. There are vehicles in the game to use for travel and combat. The game supports 4 player coop and the entire story can be played that way. The coop games are lots of fun. I played the original Borderlands and the DLC for hundreds of hours. For me, it's a nice change from the more realistic shooters.

I have played both the Xbox 360 and PC versions of Borderlands 2. The game is definitely designed for the consoles and the PC version is a port. The Xbox version works better with the UI and just better in general.

LOL! Yep, it gets insane at times. Especially when you are playing it alone. The enemy focuses their attack on you alone. I played for a couple hours on the Xbox this morning using the soldier. The deployable turret levels the playing field and draws fire. Now the soldier can reclaim it before it is spent if needed. That is an improvement over the original game. Previously, once you deployed the turret it would stay until it was spent regardless if it was shooting or not. All the players action skills have a cool down period before they can be used again. So if you reclaim it, the cool down period is shorter. I noticed that the enemy AI seems a little bit smarter now. They will try to flank you to gain an advantage.

Good times, fun stuff for what it is.

Anyone planning on a SimHQ get together this weekend like the old Saturday stuff?

I don't think you will see anything really organized like the super Saturdays for Borderlands 2. As far as I can tell, there are only about a half dozen here that have it for the Xbox 360. I played a lot of BL2 on Sunday with a friend's son. I went from a level 6 soldier to a level 19 in one gaming session.

ForSquirrels, I tried to send you a friend request in XBL, but it said that the gamertag in your signature doesn't exist.
