Hi

I'm having trouble with CoD MW3 on Steam. I recently uninstalled the game to free up some space on my HD. I deleted the local files from Steam and manually deleted the few files remaining in the Steam directory.

But now, Steam is automatically re-downloading the game and patching it without prompting, causing other Steam games to crash.

Has anyone encountered a similar problem ? Does anybody know how to fix this ?

According to Steam, to delete a Steam Game one should:



One might, in addition, right click on game and select "properties" and turn OFF auto updating for that game.

I haven't tried permanently removing a game -- in fact, I like auto update keeping my games up to date. So, I don't know if these tips will do what you want.

I did have an issue with games on my C: drive -- not enough room. So, I moved all the Steam games (49 games in total) to a different "game drive" (my I: drive) -- using Steam instructions to do so.

That is precisely what I did, and am having to do again every couple of days... Will probably have to get in touch with Steam support...

Sorted it finally. As it turns out, I needed to uninstall the MP component before uninstalling the SP game. I did it the other way round for some reason... Problem fixed. I think it took me longer to figure it out than it took to finish the campaign...
