I seem to be playing a different game as I see no teamwork or how there can even be any. Everyone just goes off as fast as the can and then runs into each other firing at point blank or I just get spammed with LRMs over and over until I die. I can't see how this isn't COD in mechs and am disappointed. I really don't understand this type of comment. How can PGI force players to use tactics? Have big red flashing text that says "Not that way dumbass, you're gonna die" or "Take cover idiot!"? Or they could implement an autopilot that will do everything for them and you can just kick back and watch the action.. kinda like having computer v computer battles in chess. Yeah, that's exactly what I want. You're a genius......

Downloaded TS, but have no idea what I'm doing with it. I had it up the other night, and it had a small overlay up, but it interfered and I had to shut it down. If someone figures out TS or another method of using voice, please post what you do. This has nothing to do with the game of course. A good SimHQ thread on TS3 setup: http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3137414.html Quick setup instructions: 1. If you have a mic, then Settings->Options->Capture set you PTT key and test 2. Bookmarks->Manage Bookmarks->Add Bookmark and add the SimHQ or MWO Beta TS3 server info and your nickname 3. Disable the TS3 overlay Settings->PlugIns uncheck TS3 Overlay... I keep it disabled as it can crash some games. 4. Bookmarks -> Join the server, look in the list of channels for the "Mercenary Corporations" channel and look for a "SimHQ" temporary subchannel to that. If one or more of us is playing the SimHQ channel will exist, if not anyone of us can create it and it will exist as long as one of us is there. If you don't have a mic, you will be able to chat via text on the SimHQ channel and you will hear us talking via voice.

I'm shutting down for the night, but hope to be on tomorrow. For the record, we ran the C3 app, which worked well but required searching for the channel, as invites didn't quite work. SimHQ is set up on there, just bookmark for later. I don't think that's NDA related. Worked well in-game. Later switched to TS which somehow altered my audio from speakers to headset and a few other wonkiness. Good games tonight, but some tough opponents.

Yeah, that's exactly what I want. You're a genius...... So people often tell me. Me a couple of friends decided to give out C3 a shot to test it out and give feedback. We were plenty surprised. If you're in group it automatically created a private channel and automatically invited everyone. The only problem was it took ages to do it on one of our comps. The other two were pretty quick. Sound quality was pretty good too. Definite thumbs up for it and I can see it'll work wonders for puggers that can't be bothered with TS.

FYI for any that aren't in the closed beta yet it looks like there is another way in via PC Gamer starting Oct 9th (also a fancy skin and cockpit doodad it looks like): http://www.pcgamer.com/2012/09/21/mechwa...ber-2012-issue/ Issue #233, also known as our December issue, is mailing now to North American subscribers. It will be available on newsstands and digital newsstands by October 9, 2012.
Within our MechWarrior Online cover story itself, we’re giving our impressions after weeks spent inside the game’s closed beta, and revealing the first details on MWO’s Community Warfare content—the intergalactic metagame that’ll drive MWO for years to come.
Have a key? Head on over to www.mwomercs.com/pcgamer for redemption instructions and details. As a bonus, you’ll immediately get access to MechWarrior Online’s closed beta when you redeem your key.
How to get the items:
If you’re a subscriber to our US edition, get your unique item redemption code on pg. 98. If you’re not, buy a copy of the PC Gamer US December issue (#233) when it goes on sale on newsstands and digital retailers on October 9. Go to pg. 98.

Ha...signed up there for a key, turns out my account is already in the beta...dunno how I missed that. Ah, they had some email screwup last week where some dev emailed the "come try out the new patch" email to everyone who signed up for the beta instead of the mail list for those already in the closed beta, and so in a pretty nice gesture IMHO I think they sent beta invites to everyone who got that email (anyone who had signed up I think), so your beta invite might have been sitting in your spam folder. That's actually a good point for anyone reading this thread who doesn't have closed beta access yet, if you signed up more than a week ago then login to MWO and check your beta access, odds are high that you got let in during that situation.
