Interesting. Loved the Privateer universe.

I'm here to tell you that I have been working on something for just under a year, something that embraces everything that my past games stood for but takes it to the next level.

"I hope youll be as excited by it as I am. My new endeavor is still in its early stages but I invite you to take the journey with me."

There is more to the website than a countdown timer.
I suggest registering. Interesting is a poll:
Do you use cockpits?

Yes, I loved seeing the cockpits and want them to return.
I turn them off but want them included for atmosphere.
No, cockpits get in the way. Dont include them.
I liked seeing my ship in Freelancer.
I dont have a preference, just get me back in space!

Haha! Awesome! I have been expecting this all year (some hints have dropped on occasion at the WC CIC). How could he not do this? We've had a PHENOMENAL year for Space Shooters--yet all of the releases have been free. We've got Wing Commander Saga, Diaspora, Dimensional Eclipse and more! This is amazing, incredible--it is high time this genre comes back to life!

While I would like a new WC game, I'm just as open to something new yet in the same vein. After all, the final couple of WC games were lacking what the early ones had. We need something more like WC1 than Prophecy 2, and it might be better to start a new franchise unhindered by Origin/EA attachments.

I hope they keep that sultry cockpit voice in the Priv III: 'Good shot Lev'.

Great memories.

Let's hope it's a proper single player space sim, and not some MMO or free to play etc etc. so many ways to blow it, sadly.

Good find - I signed up too - thanks!

I kinda wonder if it's going to be some sort of MMO though...
