What a coincidence, I was just looking at the vid and website and thought this looks great. I have grown very tired of DayZ and this looks far better IMO, will hopefully get into beta.

This looks great! I'm sure I remember seeing a little video of this a couple of months ago on these forums, wasn't it a little video of a bloke in a building looking after a girl or something? That sounds like 'I am alive' which is a non-zombie survival game and is out this month on PC.

Too many zombie/survival games out there already. :-P This here, I'm not thrilled. I wouldn't call it a rip-off, even though the choice of name for the title is kind of... "odd". Everyone has the right to make whatever game he or she pleases. But frankly, I don't see what's the difference between this game and DayZ. And then there's a whole development team behind WarZ whereas Dean 'Rocket' Hall created DayZ as a free modification to ArmA II. No matter how great all these games will be that may spawn the market now due to the success of DayZ, none of them will impress me the way DayZ does; a "simple" modification for one of the most sophisticated military simulations on the civil market, not only changing it into something totally different, but also into what is without doubt one of the most immersive games of 2012.

It was called 'The last of us', but it's PS3 only I have I am alive on the 360, it's an OK game.

Is this related to Day Z or just similar? I'd really like to see a survival game along these lines that wasn't even about zombies.

After Iron Front I will not buy any stand-alone game based on the ARMA2 engine as that one fell flat on it's face. This has been designed from the outset to be a zombie survival game (although it is based on the War Inc engine) rather than trying to force a zombie mod into an engine that doesn't really work IMO ie DayZ.

Pre-order is up https://account.thewarz.com/preorder/preorder.html?utm_source=Forums+opt-ins&utm_campaign=4d1afcb247-War_Z_CBT_availability10_2_2012&utm_medium=email and access to the beta on either 15 or 31 October depending on which one you buy. Also, the 2 most expensive ones get 3 guest passes to the beta too so if anyone gets it remember who told you the pre-order was up....... Totally skint

Don't think there listed anywhere yet but it uses the same engine as War Inc. which is free to play, so if you can play that you can play The War Z. I'm probably gonna drop for the Pioneer package as I know I cannot wait to play it lol. EDIT Taken from the War Inc site: Minimum System Requirements (30fps on LOW in 1280x720 )
OS: Windows XP SP3 or higher CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 1.8GHz or similar AMD RAM: 2GB of RAM HDD: 2GB of HDD space VIDEO: nVidia 9600 or similar ATI, 512MB dedicated video memory VIDEO: Pixel shaders 2.0
Recommended System Requirements (60fps on HIGH in 1920x1080)
OS: Windows XP SP3 or higher CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 3.0GHz or similar AMD RAM: 4GB of RAM HDD: 2GB of HDD space VIDEO: nVidia 570 or similar ATI, 1GB dedicated video memory VIDEO: Pixel shaders 2.0

I have 2 beta access passes left which gives 48 hours playtime on the 31 October if any one would like one? Please only ask if you are interested in it as I wouldn't want them wasted EDIT: all gone.
