This is mine, a little larger...it has a 5.5hp engine, it's underpowered. Flew it a couple times.....just didn't have the juice. Photo doesn't show up in the first post...dunno why. Wish I could find a power plant that was affordable.

Nice plane.
Wow, 5.5ph? What engine is in there?
Some of the big O.S. 4 cylinder engines are listed at only 4hp or so.

That was pretty cool. Damn it sounded a lot like one of my old Kawasaki triples when it was ticking over, not load enough at full chat though

Some of the big O.S. 4 cylinder engines are listed at only 4hp or so. Those are 'nitro' engines I think. My smaller ones are O.S., like the .90 and .60 engines on my 65" wingspan mustangs. They're nitro fueled. The big ones, giant scale, need 'gas' engines.

Oh man Bong. That's nice....very nice. Wow. Oh my...... Oh no...the wife would kill me....I just built a new box to play DCS with...put almost 1800 into it. Oh no...I couldn't do that. $800. Oh no...go away.......no, no no.....no. Besides...I'd have to get someone to build a battery pack for my radio....it's a single stick, Futaba. Very old, but very nice. Needs batterys, they're internal...big money..over a hundred. That's makes it too much. Oh no....no, no no.....

I wanted to start building a larger scale F-14D. But I'd have to sell my house, live out of my car, and sneak into the metal manufacturing facility at night to cut out and fabricate air frame parts.
Last RX show I went to, the Planes were scale, but the performance wasnt, i hate it when a 1/5 Scale plane is overpowered and can rotate like 720 degrees a second when its real world counter part could never do that.
example..
a 1/4 scale P-51D should be about 111.12 Inches Wingspan, have an empty weight of 1908 lbs 372.5 hp
However to keep the P:W Ratio the same and realist, for a 5.5 HP Engine, Your Empty wieght shouldnt be anymore than 25 lbs.
His Power is around 22 HP Base not counting performance increase from Modifications to the engine. So he's good to 100-120 lbs,
also claims "You can still buy this kind of engine from Husky Challenger engines Elk Grove, Illinois. 847-640-8085, ask for Russell. "

Yeah Skate...but I just want to be able to pull my gear up and abort a landing....I need more HP. Mine is 1/4 scale...takes a bunch of power to fly proper. That one in the movie was a little 'much'....I agree. But it would fit my 104" wing span nicely.....maybe too much. 7.5 would be JUST right. Bong...I found this; http://www.aircraftinternational.com/Products/Motors/3W75iUS.aspx 7.5 hp At that same web site. Just found the price on that one...$645.00 Talked to the guy on the phone. Oh my. I'm in deep trouble here.

That is absolutely beautiful Murphy. I mean just wonderful.

Skate...if you're interested in Radio Control....you might be interested in this; My "single stick" Futaba transmitter..... It's a PCM, 8 channel, each channel length of pull, can be adjusted from the transmitter. The rudder is a 'twist' of the single stick. The throttle is on the side, a slider you move with your left fore finger, holding the transmitter in your left hand. You use the stick with your right hand. Very nice when you get used to it. Don't make them anymore, only made them for a couple years. Unfortunately that's the battery pack on the table next to it. It belongs inside...and it's soldered in...not plugged in. I need a new one.....don't know where to go. But I know it's gonna cost me money to get it built and put in. And here's your Corsair.....Giant scale...but only 80" wing span. Using the same 7.5hp engine, that would probably power my 104" wing nicely.

Lot's of nice videos there. Loved the train whistle, on that corsair link you posted.... . Makes me want to spend the cash.....dunno. Might have to plan this for next year...spent too much on this new computer build. But it's nice to know it can be had...that 7.5hp engine would be perfect for my Mustang. Hate to see it sitting in the rafters...it want's to fly. I think I'll work on the transmitter now...if I get it working, I know where to go for the power. Thanks for the links guys. Bong...I 'hate' you......well....my wife will anyway...lol. Only live once.....

I've been married much too long.... Forgiveness, could be a longgggg time comin'. One must ease into these things...... ...I already owe her hardwood floors, it was carpeting at first, since I kept improving my computer build, when the bills came in....the carpet went out, and the hardwood floors came in. I can't afford to get too much deeper. But I like your way of thinking....lol.

The sound of that little radial...almost eerie how realistic it is.
