Still happily on a little break from sims, I thought I'd share some of my recent Skyrim pics. No spoilers, but tons of mods :

My first Dragonborn, Loar'wenn the Dunmer swordsman :

Hard to see the dangers crawling in that fog :

Going for the cliché medival fantasy shot :

Eat steel muthafucka :

That must've hurt :

Dragonborn the Fourth, Faellendel the Bosmer archer :

Sometimes the physics engine will do unexpected but awesome things. In this instance, hanging Argonians out to dry :

Dragonborn the Third, Frihed the Nord Axeman (the only stock item here is the ring on his right hand) :

Loose something ? :

Dragonborn the ... nevermind, I've lost track... Morgana, Breton Mage :

Combat Magic 101 : Magicka can be depleted, Steel cannot :

And since this wouldn't be a proper Skyrim post without the mandatory vistas shots...

Cheers

Nico

do you have list of the mods your running, or at least the ones you'd recommend, I'm currently running Immersive Armors, JaySuS Swords, Economics of Skyrim, SkyUI, and Live Inns and Taverns, I feel I could use a couple more goodies

Visual Mods I recommend are:
All four Skyrim HD 2K texture mods.
A Quality World Map
Skyrim Flora Overhaul
Project Reality Climates of Tamriel
Static Mesh Improvement
W.A.T.E.R. Water and Terrain Redux
Enhanced Distant Terrain
aMidianBorn armor improvements
The 4 available are Leather,Iron,Plated Steel and Elven with more to come.

All are Nexus Mod Manager compatible.
There are tons more to choose from.
These are the ones I'm fond of.

I can't really run visual mods right now, as I have my PC maxed out with settings at the low end of medium sigh

@VonBarb, which armor mod are you running? I have Immersive Armors, but they don't have any chainmail like your Archer build

I'm running a Core2 Duo 8400 @3 GHZ with
4 Gigs of Ram and a AMD 6950.
Mind you I don't watch an FPS counter but have not
experienced any showstopping slowdowns FWIW.

The only thing you have to lose is the download time.
If it's too slow for your tastes just double click the
mod and it's removed.

I believe my problem lies here:
your video card benchmark score: 3056 (20th most powerful card on the market, according to passmark benchmarks)
my video card benchmark score: 124 winkngrin

I have looked high and low, for the life of me I can't find that armor mod, all his pics have custom armors...

The answer is full of spoilers, read at your own risk. Do no read if you haven't finished the main quest yet :

Click to reveal..
Looks like Alduin's secluded sanctuary in the mountains where you go at the end of the game to use his portal to Sovngarde. It's only accessible once, on Dragon back...

Cheers

Thanks! On second look I'm not sure it isn't the "Labyrynthion", but I can't remember there being such a wall alround. Yet I've never looked at it from that angle either.

Very true that, but that's probably because you ususally get there through those arches in that narrow canyon (coming from Whiterun) and probably don't notice the wall... Now that you mention it, that big tunnel door makes it look a lot like Labyrinthian....

No, I do not know my Skyrim map by heart, I just happen to have completed a quest there yesterday, that's all biggrin

Cheers

My apologies, I somehow managed to overlook all your questions regarding the chainmail ! Hope this fixes it :

The archer is using Pino's Light Armors :

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/17212

As for Frihed, he's using this one biggrin :

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/20825

The Ancient Nord Armor seen in the pics is also a mod, actually a merger between the Ancient Nord and Iron armor, but I cannot remember exactly which one, sorry.

Sorry it took so long to answer your question !

Cheers

Nico

no problem, thanx for the links, I was really disappointed that Skyrim had no middle-class light armor, there's no inbetween from leathers to the Elven/Glass, and I'm not a fan of that stuff, it doesn't fit a lot light-armor playstyles as far as roleplaying goes

you must be using SkyRealism, as the standard bandoliers mod doesn't include those pouches/pockets, as I found to my dismay.

Not sure what pouches you're talking about. I'm using plain default Bandoliers. The one I'm using on my characters is the Large version. In order to get it, you first need to craft a Bandolier with small pouches on the tanning rack, which you then use as a crafting ingredient to craft the Large version.

+1 About light armours. Skyrim has a much more retro-RPG feel than Oblivion did, almost like a dungeon crawler, with the theme of 1980s-style Barbarian ever so present, making for some rather baroque offerings in the armour department, which is especially damageable to light armour play styles. I mean, how are you supposed to sneak up on someone in an armor made of Dragon scales ? Glass armour doesn't look any lighter than Iron either. Not to mention the Hide and Scale armour : I understand Nords are supposed to be resistant to cold, but to walk around topless wearing a skirt is a bit extreme. I was especially baffled by the relative lack of chain mail (except for those lackluster townsguards outfits) and decided to try my hand at some Bethesda modding after Pino stopped updating his mod and I didn't want to piggyback on his work.

Cheers

wow, didn't even notice the second one was your mod, nice work there. I nabbed your woodsman armor too. thumbsup

as far as the SkyRealism bit goes, I see now your belt pouches are part of your armor mods, however your mage is wearing both a satchel on his back and a phial holder on his belt, I was under the understanding those are only available from "SkyRealism - Carry Weight and Capacity"
