many moons ago I asked here about how long a campaign should be
http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3564936/Campaigns_How_long.html#Post3564936

well finally part1 is ready (or as ready as it will ever be exitstageleft )
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?bx2mgq0cu5u5480
THIS IS FOR 1.07 BETA ONLY

As the thread title suggests, this campaign is based on the book 'Spitfire on my tail' by Ulrich Steinhilper and Peter Osbourne and i have tried to stick as closely to the book as possible- this is NOT a 'tons of combat in every mission' and the first part of the campaign is rather slow combat wise, mirroring Steinhilper's frustration at seeming to be in 'the wrong place at the wrong time'. There is however several missions where you will find more spits than is healthy- missions include upto 160 aircraft in the air at times screwy
As such you will probably need a fairly strong rig, and may need to drop some visual settings.
Clouds and some bad weather are in some missions- but there are 'cloud free' versions if your rig really can't handle them.

The campaign is 32 missions long and is part 1 of a 2 part campaign, starting with your transfer to Coquelles airfield and ending towards the end of September(for part 1).

There is a quite long readme which you are highly encouraged to read. banghead

Briefings include waypoint information, maps and a 'tactical blackboard' which again you are highly encouraged to read.

Skins are also included- based on Capt Farrel's work (butchered by me) and his permission to use them is highly appreciated

a few screenies

have fun

Congratulations, looks like a lot of work. I'll give it a spin next time I fire up CoD, (which I have to admit isn't that often these days...) It's summer here and there is too much life happening smile

Having a little trouble getting the campaign to work Bolox, this is what ive done so far...

Pasted the "Spitfire_on_my_tail-part1" folder into the "Campaign" folder located in Steam\steamapps\common\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\parts\bob\mission\campaign

Added the lines...

[Spitfire-on-my-tail]
folder spitfire_on_my_tail-part1
title Spitfire on my tail-part1
image poster.jpg

...to the campaign "conf"

Created a empty folder called "Spitfire_on_my_tail-part1" into the Campaign folder located in my Documents\1C SoftClub\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\mission\campaign

What have i done wrong or missed? Im not seeing the campaign listed when i select "single player/Campaign"

did you write the line
spitfire_on_my _tail-part1
in the [Main] section of campaigns.ini?

failing that try using Il2 campaign tool and change the last line to read "image Poster.jpg" instead of "image Poster.bmp"

Just checked what changed after using the IL2 campaign tool....

The lines in your folder look like this...

[Main]
campaign_gb
campaign_de
Spitfire_on_my_tail-part1

After using the tool it looks like this....

[Main]
Spitfire_on_my_tail-part1
campaign_gb
campaign_de
Spitfire_on_my_tail

Now it works! dont know if that helps but thought you might like to know.

that would be because it is written for 1.07- clearly says so in the readme
The mission is trying to load 100 octane Spit/Hurri's which are only available in 1.07

Suggest you put things like that in your post, as well as the readme. I can see why you built it for 1.07 but no point downloading for folks who are not running 1.07.
