As title says, I'm lost.
Purchased Black Shark 2 two days back off the DCS website and dowloaded via the torrent link provided.
Slowly (28 hrs non-stop) but successfully downloaded a folder named DCS_BS2_ENG which includes 1 application and 3 bin. Total of 4.6GB

Now, I have DCS:World installed as well as the Hawg, P-51 & Combined Arms. Upon installing these modules, it seems the path to DCS:World was automatically selected upon launchng the install wizard.
This is not happening with this BS2 install. Is that ok? It actually wants to create a separate folder under c:/program files....

Odd, no? Can anyone clarify why it won't go into DCS:World. What did I miss this time...

Here comes the funny part banghead
I just stumbled into a different download page on the DCS site with a file named KA-50_1.2.0.63205
Could this be it actually for DCS:World? The other one is for a stand-alone sim?

Cheers,
Slug

Black Shark 2's latest module for World is 455mb http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/in...136&lang=en

Sounds like you downloaded the 1.1.1.1 version?

Thanks 88 for clarifying.
I just happened to find out the file you mentioned and edited my post, starting new download. Much faster torrent, which is nice.

Cheers,
Slug

Clocked a couple of hours on the sim and learning curve is as steep as with the Hog! Fantastic.
One thing I immediately noticed - and never did while looking at screenies before - the KA50 is one ugly bird... I don't mean the graphic model, I mean the actual machine.

Menacing it is, but a real ugly duckling all the same to my eyes. Crooked nose, crooked tail and stubby winglets. Very weird looking.

Cheers,
Slug

I don't know, I think the aircraft is pretty sleek in relative terms among the gunship community...although that pitot/air data probe assembly on the nose doesn't help.

If you take a gander at page 17 (1-3) in the DCS BS2 flight manual document, there's the original concept drawing of the V-80 prototype. Sleek and futuristic looking, albeit not so much in reality, lol.

Afterburners are for wussies...hang around the battlefield and dodge tracers like a man.
