You guys didn't get the memo? Negative opinions will not be tolerated at SimHQ. Nor beating of the dead horses! No wait...

SimHQ is a heaven compared to other places, as long as you stay within the rules opinions are fine. In fact there has been no trolling or flamewars in this forum for a very long time. By and large it's actually ok, considering the subject and the level of feelings. Most of the time it's just a case of rewording opinions a bit just to make them a tad more respectful to other members. Respect is the key word (and I don't mean you Furbs, I mean generally). The thing about SimHQ is that I can quite honestly say that we are not trying to be advocates of the games, but advocates of the SimHQ members. I don't give a flying fig how well CloD sells or care a monkey's toss if it's officially seen as the Worse Game of All Time, but I do feel strongly that people get to say what they want to say in this corner without feeling personally challenged/attacked all the time. I see even in this thread (waves at Mr Hog) there's doubts about that, but what can you do..

Yeah I'm mostly joking. Back when this forum was a combat zone and a few members got banned or run off, I had started to honestly wonder. It happens on most other game forums. If you speak up with a negative opinion on a game, if the mods don't get you, the fan base will. There's some rabid fans here too, but at least the mods aren't quite as strict about silencing the dissenters. But yeah, what I like about this place is that I would sit down and have a beer with anyone here, different opinion or not. Even most if not all of the guys who left over this game.
I refuse to buy a flight sim that I have no interest in playing, on the off chance that MAYBE someday they'll make the one I really want to play.

I would tend to disagree, from my perspective there are alot more negative posts than positive ones. I don't think the dissenters are that hard done by, but I wish they would start making valid arguments . I'll buy the next round while the place is empty. All those folks who left will be falling over themselves coming back if and when the sim starts to work.

I would tend to disagree, from my perspective there are alot more negative posts than positive ones. Keep in mind you are talking about a game that has about 65% of it broken or missing and about 20% of it working ok. (I left 15% on the table for misc.) I'm not sure what kind of posts you are expecting in this case. It's not that the arguments aren't valid, your just tired of hearing them. If they fix the game, those arguments will start to fade. You will notice that CLOD is the only game that was so bad, it needed a special "extended" forum to discuss it. The rest of SimHQ forums are more civil.(except pwec of course)

The negative/positive post comment was about the Hogdriver suggesting the negative poster where being ganged up on. I would say they are being heard, and are quite able to attack anyone that says anything good about the sim.

I beg to differ. I don't think there are many cases where someone made an AAR or screenies talking about how good the game is and have a negative poster bring the thread down and try t make the OP feel bad for enjoying the sim. It's actually quite the reverse. What you are talking about is someone posting how unhappy they are with the sim, then someone tries to belittle the negative posts by saying how good the game is, and the battle ensues. Basically, the "pro" camp, can't let the negative opinions slide and just chalk it up to having a different opinion. Show me a thread in the screenshots or AAR area where someone posted good stuff about COD, and got flamed for it. It just doesn't happen really, it does in the reverse scenario all the time, almost without exception.
