Really like the new gunner commands. I tried the short distance command and it works most of the time but every so often he throws in a couple of long shots. Great addition, thanks.

Hi, I must be doing something wrong as since the upgrade if I skirmish and try to put Brisfits in I always CDT. I've tried running 5 D VIIF's against 5 SE5's and it ran fine but when I changed the SE5's for Bristols it CDT'd every time. Any clues out there? Do you have the Gunner AI mod installed? It and the newest patch are incompatible untill the mod is updated. The update has been made. new version works great.

Well, I've made several attempts and I can't get my weapons mods to fire in MP. They work fine in SP, but when I run MP it's like they're not there even though I see them. Extra guns don't fire. Lewis guns won't depress/elevate even though the same control works fine in SP. If the guns are replacements, like Spad XIII balloon guns, I just get a click like they're out of ammo.
I play MP coop, BTW, not dogfight.
Anyone else seen the same thing? Found out what to do?

What does the "sharp picture" setting do? Does it increase the overall sharpness or does it increase some kind of LOD appearance on certain game elements? Does it effect the fps rate much or at all?

It sharpens the image up w/ no FPS hit that I notice. It does cause a few minor jaggies at odd angles tho'.

Sigh. I suspected as much. Literally nothing I've done has made a difference.
Well, now I know to stop trying till a fix is made!

Jason posted some gfx driver settings to go with "sharp picture" I wasn't too impressed at first but with a couple of tweaks in in Nvidia inspector its a keeper. http://riseofflight.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=30947&start=20As with most things gfx wise its a pit of a tradeoff, in this case jaggies v texture sharpness.

Barkhorn1x--Those are GREAT PICS! Please, what are your settings (looks like you have some gamma working there) for RoF, and your system specs?
I've been tweaking my new 670 gtx card trying to get things just right. Mine are crisp, but not quite as vivid as your pics.
Thanks!
Broadside TY - here are my specs: AMD PhenomII X4 965 Black Edition Quad-Core CPU (3.4Ghz) ATI Radeon HD 6970 Lightning 2GB DDR5 16X PCIe Video Card [DirectX 11 Support] ...and here are my settings: I set the Gamma to 40% as it gives me a richer color palette. Mmm, I do like those settings - or maybe it's because I haven't flown RoF for ages and many patches have passed since that But RoF really looks awesome now! I never liked that HDR/contrast look but could not get a setting that did not look "washed out" before this. The only thing missing now is a bit more grass/hedges etc as those vast fields can look very dead and flat... And a bit less saturation of those dark distant forest blobs that I have never seen as an old IRL pilot. Thanks a lot!

I need some assistance and instruction with the new v1.026b weapons upgrade. I installed a single Lewis gun on the top wing of my Nieuport 17. The command to fire all forward guns just fires the Lewis. The Vickers gun is silent. I can recharge the Lewis and see the Drum Change animation and then fire the Lewis again. But the Vickers remains silent. The R key re-cocks the Vickers and shows the old cocking animation but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to fire both guns or just the Vickers. I have played around with all the firing keystrokes with no joy. Space, LAlt-Space, RAlt-Space, period and comma. None seem to fire the Vickers. Only the Lewis gun fires. The hanger screen usually shows the ammo loads for the weapons that can be selected but I fail to find those options after version 1.026b upgrade.

I think that gun above the wing comes under "over wing guns" and you can have a separate key to fire that from your normal gun, also you can switch it on the fly to fire upward. Hope this helps bud. Mick.

Still No Joy firing the Vickers guns in any of the Allied Aircraft. I have tested them all in the Missions. I can cock the gun with the R keystroke and watch the animation. but none of the Hot Key combinations (Space, LAlt-Space, RAlt-Space, period or comma} will fire the Vickers. What am I doing wrong? The hangar screen shows that I have full load of Vickers Ammo. If I mount Lewis guns, the Lewis fires with no issues using the appropriate default key strokes.

I completed a Recovery and set ROF up again as before. I have no Vickers MG fire control. The Space bar refuses to fire the Vickers in any allied aircraft for me at all. This is very frustrating. The Lewis gun when installed on every aircraft fires with no issues when I press the Space Bar. I am unable to place a thread on ROF forum so I am unable to report my issue there for help.

For forward firing Vickers, be sure your engine is on.

I believe I finally got the answer... Thanks every one!!!
Of course, Dooh, the engine has to be turning over for the syncronizer gear to interrupt the Vickers firing. I was testing the guns while sitting in the cockpit with the engine 'deader than a door nail'.
What tripped me up is I misunderstood that the ROF simulation of the interrupter gearing requires the engine to be turning over. So the Vickers will not fire, period. My question is, as the interrupter gear would disengage the firing pin of the MG, with the prop physically out of the way of the line of fire, shouldn't pulling the trigger fire the Vickers?
Thanks again.
