I'm scared of my wingmen more than I'm afraid of enemy fighter jets. In fact, I believe that they downed me more than enemy fire did. Well, EECH AI pilots are awesome most of the time. But when it comes to tight, slow turn and maneuvering from a hover they suddenly turn retarded! One just clipped my tail rotor when he came back to his formation position after I ordered him to attack an enemy tank. A mission before that, another one managed to land on my main rotor, downing both of us. My virtual U.S. Army aviation lost 3 Apaches from midair collision just in one sitting tonight.. I'm not exaggerating when I say that this kind of incident occurs in maybe 4 out of 10 missions.
I wonder if the modders can do something to make the AI pilots less retarded on these situations? Dodging enemy missiles and flaks is scary already, I don't need my wingmen to make matter worse sigh.

Have you tried changing the formation, at the beginning of a mission?
Maybe having them in a different spot will have less of an... "impact"?

Hm, no. I usually stick to the left echelon formation. I'll experiment with different formations later. Thanks for the suggestion.

My wingmen usually behave pretty well.
One snuck into my line of fire once though and accidentially caught a Stinger intended for a Hip. Or a Hellfire intended for a T-80. Can't remember.
The thing is, I've only noticed the loss after I had landed and got chewed out for FF.

I noticed if you tell your wingmen to ATTACK MY TARGET, you need to be sure where they are first.

If you are past the attack point and they are still getting into firing position, sometime they will either shoot you down or you end up shooting them down when you say ATTACK MY TARGET;

or in one case yesterday, when I said ATTACK MY TARGET, the Apache to my right of me decided to swing left across the front of my and he ended up clipping me and causing both of us to crash.

Then I got reprimanded in the briefing for friendly fire!

Hey, I didn't even fired a shot; that was not my fault.

But What I really want to know is:

When you are at an airbase and you are parked in the rows of landing pads right next to the big re-generating building; what's the deal with those choppers that are coming out of that building?

They want your landing pad and they don't care if you are still starting up your engine or just starting to slowly take off!

I had a few clip me and kill me or landing right on top of me while I was still in take off mode and causing me to get stuck and not be able to take off.

Can't they freaking wait until you have cleared the landing pad?

What's in the box? C'mon, what's in the boooox?
