After the last update and some purchased weapons mods, Ive discovered im really enjoying the Nieuport 17 alot more now. I use to hate this plane but The extra top mounted guns make a difference for me. I was never that good with this plane before, but now, its like a whole new plane for me know. Im doing a heck of a lot better now in a close up dogfights.
Plus the rockets just look awesome even though I havent hit anything with them yet. I may just leave my beloved Se5 behind.

The rockets are the single most fun addition to RoF since the original DVD version! I actually downed a plane (human controlled) with them yesterday I tried MANY times and missed, but on this particular opportunity I dipped below a bomber as he started to turn, then turned into him--put the nose up, and fired away Very fun! I'm flying the n11 and n17 now, and I rarely flew them all the way back since their release.

I may just leave my beloved Se5 behind. Maybe, but wait until you shoot down a few 2-seaters from beneath, using the foster mount Lewis..

Yes, weapon mod changed my habits From now on: Flying Breguet, i always take the upwing Lewis addition Flying DH4, i always take the 2 frontal Vickers + gunner 2 Lewis Flying Camel, i always take the wing cutout Flying DFW, i always take the gunner double parabelum Flying Spad VII, i always take the upwing Lewis That's about it for my current rides. Sometimes the N17 upwing single Lewis, but not always cause of perf losse. As well as Dolphin upward 2 Lewis. Some weapons are really a handicap...and rockets + additional gun is usually a big perf hit

Some people will use them just for fun, some will use them in their historical context, everybody wins! +1 I'm also now flying planes that I really never flew much before at all. The Dolphin, N11 & 17, I no longer have that dreaded fear of attacking bombers any more if I have an upper wing gun and fly like Albert Ball did. Tons of fun. And after all, isn't that why we play these games? To have fun?

run, dont walk to the store and purchase them! They add so much, and for the cost, it's a great value (50% off if you buy 17 or more). Just the experimentation alone is worth the cost!

I never fly the N17 or Spad VII without the upper wing single Lewis anymore. I also adopted the twin MGs in the back seat of my 2 seaters, where I find the biggest improvement is the ability to give orders to your gunner.

I prefer to mount the dual Parabellums in the German 2-seaters and jump into the back seat more often...I've found that the shredding effect at close range to be eminently satisfying when a fighter tries to get on your tail. So far I've tried all the weapons mods including the rockets ( can't quite figure out how to hit anything with those ) and I have to say, my favorite is by far the twin Parabellums...however, the Bristol's twin Lewis guns in conjunction with her single Vickers or the twin Lewis's on the DH.4 with its twin Vickers are formidable to say the least. The Becker cannon on the Albatros D.II or in the backseat of a German 2-seater is quite lethal, but seems difficult to get hits at anything other than almost point-blank, so I tend to not equip it for missions. All in all, I would say my habits have changed considerably since the weapons mods became available, as the Albatros D.III with its trophy overwing Lewis has become my new favorite to hunt RE.8's with.
