Along with 4 additional theaters and additional cockpits. http://www.freefalcon.com/forum/showthread.php/21034-FreeFalcon-6-0Even if BMS is such a fantastic iteration of Falcon, there are things that FF6 still does better (and a few AF does a lot better too). And I also credit the FF releases to have kept me interested in flying Falcon to this day. But after flying BMS for a while, the age of the FF graphics starts to show. I know it's not about the graphics, but still... The perfect Falcon would have the looks and stability of BMS, plus the database enhancements of Free Falcon.

I have not as yet had a single crash/lock-up/bluescreen with BMS. Had two CTD's since installing this yesterday. I am not too critical of FF, because thats how it has always been with Falcon4, and I played the hell out of FF3/4/5. Its just that I have been spoilt by BMS. I would not recommend FF to a newbie before BMS - would you?

I had good luck with FF5.5 and appreciate the work the team put into it. Some people had worse luck with the series, I realize. Others fared well. Personally, I am pleased to have two additional flavors available of the greatest flight sim of all time, in addition to the AF commercial release.

Congrats to the FF team for this release.
To be honest, I haven't touched FF for many months now, as I'm running out of hair to pull, and BMS is far superior, but I'll ALWAYS advocate more flavours of Falcon, not fewer. The Israeli Theatre is a perfect example of why I feel this way. The awesome work done for FF with ITO made its way into BMS too, and now we're all loving it.
So once again, I may never fly FF6, but well done to the FF team, keep 'em coming.

Can F4AF, BMS, and FF6 all coexist on the same Windows 7 64bit machine without any issues or hacks necessary?
I really liked the Auto ACQ and TWS multi firing in FF5.5, along with the fact that stealth aircraft were stealthy when you flew them... if obviously too perfectly stealthy. Also fantastic weather, though I haven't used BMS enough yet to tell if it has that or not. The CTDs were really annoying, though. But I'd like to give it a shot again. BMS is very cool, has the sniper pod, and head mounted cuing similar (actually even better) than AF. But they all do good things.
The ultimate falcon would have graphics that could be scaled from AF's lowest settings all the way up to BMS's highest and the features of all the sims combined. Oh... and winds aloft, but like half what AF has. Somehow it's hard to deal with 95kt winds all the time.

Can F4AF, BMS, and FF6 all coexist on the same Windows 7 64bit machine without any issues or hacks necessary? Shouldnt be a problem - there are 3 totally separate installs there - you dont need Falcon 4.0 installed for BMS even if you do for FF6, and AF is totally separate.

FF6 required me to uninstall the original F4 install, which I thought I needed for BMS... guess not. FF6 will not actually start, though. Just freezes at the blue install screen. Can't even get into the menu. Oddly, the config launcher shows nothing checked. By default, FF6 is set to run as administrator. I thought maybe I needed to select that option, but it was already done. Not sure what's going on. Install is 16GB, by the way. I went through all the steps methodically. Windows 7 64bit.

FF6 ran fine for me, first time out. It asked to uninstall FF5.5 first. No sign of any interaction requested or needed concerning my BMS install. Only glitch is that for some reason I can't determine, when launching the saved TE "Just Having Fun" or whatever the non naval strike, non SR-71 TE is called, I can't join any flight but the first one, the AWACS. Regardless of how many times I click on another flight, or reload the TE, the selection remains in the top, first flight - AWACS. Weird.

It'd be nice if they say explicitly on both the install page and the download readme that it absolutely will not work with Intel Integrated graphics chips. Not even the menu screen will load. That's BS, dude. 3-4hrs I spent downloading, installing, and struggling to get the thing to work. And now it's hogged up over 20GB on my hard drive between the installers and the actual installation. Another defrag session tonight, I guess, after I remove it.
By the way, zero problems with F4AF or a tuned-down BMS. And love the HMCS in BMS, though the TWS mode and TMS hat function is confusing.
Edit: the TWS and TMS hat was confusing because the hat wasn't working properly with the profiler. direct mapping of the TMS and DMS hats fixed it.

Who in their right mind cares to take part in a CTD experiment. Even the moderators there tell me they have CTD every time they launch a session. What in the hell is wrong w/people that they must put themselves thru so much torture. Yes, BMS is sweet and Allied is sweet. FF5 gave me nothing but fits on my end. Adding more theaters made the problem worse. ... FF5 fans need a vacation and a good shrink. Ahahaha, God d.... true, including defected developers. and guess what, if there weren't on site "shrink", Aragorn, they would be all "mentalists" by now.

I really think the teams should merge. There is a lot of talent on both sides, and the community would be better off if they were working together. But I am sure a lot of people would disagree with me. Not least the developers themselves. FreeFalcon and BMS are so far apart now that the source code simply cannot be merged. Also, the vision of the two teams is VERY different. FreeFalcon's focus is on the ability to fly every aircraft in the sim with its own cockpit (not avionics as the program only supports F-16 avionics) making it a survey sim while the BMS focus is on as realistic a simulation of the F-16 as possible making it more of study sim. There is no right or wrong direction, but to merge the two visions would be impracticable and would likely piss off a bunch of die hard fans on both sides. However having said that, a lot of really great work finds itself crossing over. The Israeli Theatre is a great example of that, and only one of many.
