I need some help with changes and new features. I would appreciate anything that folks can provide.
<snip>
Are there any good examples of recon and artillery spot missions? In RoFCampaign these are handled by fly-bys or circle patterns, but the game has since been updated to make them real missions. I would like to make better use of in gmae capabilities to make these mission types more interesting. For those of you who also play ROF's Beta Career, if you get assigned a recon or artillery spotting mission, you can do the following to share your mission here for Pat's study: - start the mission so it is downloaded to your "…Rise of Flight\data\Missions" folder - alt-tab out of ROF and go to your "…Rise of Flight\data\Missions" folder - zip together just these 2 files: _gen.eng and _gen.Mission - attach that zip to this thread Pat, if anyone does what I describe above, you may want to also check out the " File Transfer Error #10017 (v1.019) when using Flash objects" thread at the ROF forums. I also recommend the advice in the " ROF.exe client crash on Co-op load" post. Charlo

Whilst playing some PWCG generated Coop missions with squadmates recently there was a little confusion about the wind speed/direction. I did some quick tests and found that the information on wind direction given in the briefings is 180deg out. I know this was an issue for the game itself a while back but it has since been corrected. The below screenshot highlights the issue: The PWCG mission briefing gives the wind as 103 - technically this is correct as in 'the wind is blowing in the direction of 103'. However, in aviation terms the wind is always given as the direction it is blowing 'FROM'. Looking at the wind indicator on the simple guages shows the wind is blowing 'FROM' approx 280. I think this is a relatively simple fix in that the wind direction given in the briefing needs to be adjusted by 180deg. Incidentally, the wind direction is usually given as a rounded figure - in my previous life as an air trafficker I would generally round the direction to the nearest 10 deg. I realise this is a relatively minor issue but it all adds to the immersion of the game. And if we could get winsocks fully implemented into PCWG that would be the icing on the cake for this closet aviation meteorology fan! Regards, WB.

As a post script to my above post I just want add that I and several other EAF squadmates have had a blast flying PCWG generated coop missions. Brigstock has provided some excellent missions for us in a DiD campaign in the latter months of the war. All the missions were tense, hectic and good fun.
Of note was a mission where our flight of EAF piloted SE5s was bounced not once but twice by AI flown Fokker DVII and Pfalz DXII.
Superb.
Thanks 777 and Pat Wilson for providing an excellent experience.

Brigstock is an EAF squadmate who posts here as well. He used PWCG to generate coop missions for us to fly. He had to make some manual adjustments to allow us to fly the missions as a group.

Its the small white arrow on the edge of the compass gauge. The number of arrows varies with the wind speed.

Thanks Trooper, that's what I do. Simple enough even for an Army wallah to be able to do it. The point I was making was to improve the briefings and make them more accurate and historically closer to the norm. WB.
