(Actually as winds aloft are not modelled, I think it is pretty much the same) Not the same as a HUD toggle, of course, but it is there... IAS on the HUD, TAS/GS on the HSI

Sorry for the OT... You know that you CAN see TAS/GS readouts on the HSI, right? (Actually as winds aloft are not modelled, I think it is pretty much the same) Not the same as a HUD toggle, of course, but it is there... IAS on the HUD, TAS/GS on the HSI
Now I'm confused... The only groundspeed I can read on the HSI (DATA page) is the prebriefed one from WPT to WPT, not the actual one; kinda useless since you can't read your TAS/GS anywhere else. Or can you? What am I missing? Who stole that page from my manual? Besides that (not so important after all, anyway you'll always adjust your speed to match the prebriefed time to target or time to WPT), maybe winds aloft are not modeled, but air density is, and that positively affects to the gap between IAS and TAS. Regards.

See Manual pp. 4-70, 4-71 On either side of the aircraft symbol are readouts ending in T and G for TAS/GS respectively: and yes, there is a difference between IAS and TAS, but generally the TAS and GS readouts are the same all the time. .....and what do you mean by ILS needles?? When you turn on ILS mode, you do see the ILS needles in the HUD (NAV mastermode selected).

OMG... Can I blame my addiction to coffee and the use of freetrack for not seeing that?... .....and what do you mean by ILS needles?? When you turn on ILS mode, you do see the ILS needles in the HUD (NAV mastermode selected). I mean analog ILS needles on the backup ADI ball in case you lose your HUD. I don't know if they appear too when you select the HUD display in one of the MFD though. Regards.

OMG... Can I blame my addiction to coffee and the use of freetrack for not seeing that?... Of course you can! Normally I blame it on NOT ENOUGH coffee, but to each his own I mean analog ILS needles on the backup ADI ball in case you lose your HUD. I don't know if they appear too when you select the HUD display in one of the MFD though. Regards. OK that's kind of what I thought. I find when the ILS needles are in the ADI, like some of the Third Wire aircraft, it is too much of a pain being heads down...and I do better just eyeballing it
