Does anyone know whether they plan to do more helicopter DLC, with what seems like the demise of Combat Helo and ArmA 2's shoddy version of the Apache, it would be really nice to have an Apache sim with all the right features that ArmA 2's Apache lacks.

If it would be addon similar to the Mi-24 then I'll pass. Take On was a nice surprise, but to be honest I was expecting it will mature to more sim, less game. With Hinds focus changed to game even more. Right now it feels (to me) just like Arma with different clouds and better helicopter FM, it's not unique enough. Actually I don't know who was the target of the game. Arma players are playing, well, Arma. For simmers it's too simplified, there is no interest in TKOH here, on Hovercontrol, and other forums I visit.

I was expecting Hinds would introduce sim lite avionics on par with Flaming Cliffs, unfortunately this DLC was a very big disappointment, at least to me.

I hope BIS will support TKOH with new, more advanced addons, but with focus on Arma 3 I'm afraid TKOH won't be supported as I would like it to be.

I guess we will have to wait a bit longer to get a true Longbow 2 successor. frown

And I wouldn't count Combat Helo out just yet; but regardless, yes, it does seem like there's not gonna be a AH-64 product on the market for at least the short term (ie 2012).

Afterburners are for wussies...hang around the battlefield and dodge tracers like a man.

Again..borrowing from my soapbox stance on Microsoft Flight - people will buy your game if you make a good game. If TOH content is satisfying enough from a gaming standpoint, it will make it..because both ArmA players and study simmers will enjoy a well crafted game that has good content. I really haven't heard enough about the Hind add-on as far as gameplay is concerned to make me whip out my wallet. Once I read there is some fun gaming content in there..I'll be all over it..

And let me clarify..I think the original base product Take On Helicopters met that criteria of having good game content..

Me too. The Noisecontrollers add-on has been a real challenge and the music is decent. Hind was a big disappointment mainly due to the Arma method of interacting with the gunner and quirky FM of the helicopter. I don't care about clickable cockpits and full-real start sequences but I do have as a minimum a LockOn level of targeting and weapons management. If I can't have that then I will much prefer something small and simple like the Kiowa and Little Bird. This has been a strange year in my life as a sim fan. Its as if nothing really scratches the itch anymore. Much of the community must be of the same mindset because I see many migrating to DayZ and World of Tanks. They do so in search of originality and game-play.
