Taken from Wikipedia: The Leadwerks Engine is a 3D game engine powered by OpenGL 2.1. So as the game is built on the Leadwerks Engine, I think it's safe to say that the sim will be OpenGL, and at that, OpenGL-only.

Many incredible sims are OpenGL based... I see no evil here.

I'm curious why this matters to you??? Um, because he obviously wants to play the sim but as he stated, his card will only do D3D (which I find odd in this day-and-age, but hey?)

Well Actually I put the reason in my first post.. OPENGL is Fine I can run it NO Problems as my nVidia card will do the latest Open GL fine.. The Problem is I play my Sims and games in 3D, you know like a 3D Movie.. and nVidia with their infinite wisdom Dropped 3D Support for Open GL.. So hence my Frustration that this sim is an Open GL Based game.. Now I will still probally get it but will NOT be able to enjoy it in 3D altho Triplescreen support will be there just a little dissapointed I will NOT have 3D in this what looks to be a fabulous sim..

Ok, I "get" that as a concern now...but...would you get the 3D support from say an ATI card instead?
Sure, I'm not suggesting you are rich enough to just buy video cards left and right, but if you sold the nvidia card before too old, and bought a card that DID support 3D from OpenGL, then that would work, right? Maybe through used sales on say Craigslist or something?
The other side is that maybe you should be more angry at nVidia for dropping that support, than this small developer trying to craft a complex piece of entertainment software together on a shoestring budget, who likely doesn't have the funds to simply pick and choose whatever "game engine" would be top of the line.
Isn't it also possible that with future increases in 3D monitors, demand for such product would increase, and a future patch from nVidia could come?
I dunno, I just think that whatever the problems and solutions here, I'm having a really hard time linking any blame to this game's creators.

Ok, so how about pushing for a campaign to get nVidia to support the 3d again? You know, start a facebook page, cruise all the sim and gaming sites, get people rilled up about it?

Yes I could try and get a thread going over at MTBS and perhaps have a few chime in.. I could also write corporate..
Not even sure why they dropped support for OpenGL?? I just know it was dropped some years ago..but like I said they still support 3D and Open GL in their Quadro cards for professionals.. so they basically could write the support real easy..

They may have thought no one was using it "so why spend the man-hours to keep it?"
By getting lots of likeminded people pissed about this, to join your facebook page, would show them otherwise!
