I just finished Andor Season 1. Very enjoyable. Looking forward to Season 2 very much.
Now I'm starting 'The Last Of Us'. It looks promising.

I have never played the game but the start was familiar because I'd watched the game intro once.

Now I'm starting 'The Last Of Us'. It looks promising. I'm fairly sure Andor is a "limited series". I think this one season is it.

I enjoy watching the Oscars show. It's same as opening prezzies on Christmas or the suspense of seeing a big football game and seeing your team wins.
For the vast majority of tv audiences now it's not, hence the plummeting tv ratings.

Unless Ricky Gervais is involved, ripping the $hit out of over-paid and self-important 'celebrities' it's not worth a view in my opinion.

I remember in the 70s and 80s, where the Oscars were mostly reserved and focused on the movies and the award. They need to move back to that format, and have the actors keep their mouths shut about their politics.
+1 I watched several Oscars ceremonies in the 80's and the 90's and I do not recall any overt politicization. I'm pretty sure that all started after Bush II came to office.

I've never watched any such show. Doing so would not add anything to the TV shows / movies I like and watch. Not sure why anyone outside the industry cares.

I saw a few movies the last couple of weeks:
1) "Freaks" -- What a great little find this was. Doesn't seem to have been a popular film, but a low budget sci fi journey this was, nonetheless. I forgot to drink my smoothie before this finished, so that was a good sign. Interesting worldbuilding and tightly written, there were some characters here that we cared about. *** 1/4 out of **** stars.
2) "In the Bedroom" -- Depression. Not a bad drama at all, but I'm not sure I necessarily agree with the ending, either. This was a vigilante movie, and can absolutely understand how the protagonists felt, given their situation. *** out of **** stars.
3) "Anon" -- This film I cite as reason number one to avoid augmented reality glasses or implants. I would go nuts if I had to perceive the world the same way characters in the film were forced to. Still, there is a message here about big brother, privacy and freedom that is nicely delivered before the credits roll. Unfortunately there is one snide attack on Christians, and though it may have been a single line, the characterization was unnecessary and as always, stereotypical and wrong. For that reason I must deduct a quarter point. Decent film, otherwise, and much to think about after viewing. What was particularly harrowing was how augmented reality could be abused to manipulate the people, or do far worse to them. ** 3/4 out of **** stars.
4) "The Lost City" -- I chuckled a few times, actually, and even laughed out loud. I also spaced out several times. "Romancing the Stone" this was not. There was a side plot here that could have been completely cut out, or re-written to have been interesting and actually important to the overall story, beyond a deus ex machina rescue. The 80s did this story far better than this modern attempt, that Sandra Bullock could not even save. ** 1/2 out of **** stars.

I looked this one up and the premise is right up my alley. Plus Grace Park who played Boomer/Sharon/Athena on Battlestar Galactica is in it. You sold me on checking this one out!

Freaks was a nice surprise. Wasn't expecting much but it delivers.
